Vendor Contracts For Your Wedding Day

By T. Z. Cole

Contracts, contracts , contracts. Wither it is a wedding event, purchasing a home, auto or property or the deal for your wedding meal and reception – in the end legalities, and contracts come into play. Better to play it by the book, follow the straight and narrow path. Be safe rather than sorry.

Weddings are dreamy affairs, but they often involve some down-to-earth planning. Once you decide your vision, you should count on some down-to-earth paperwork, namely the contracts. Such documents are legal between you and your vendor on terms and conditions. They work to each and both parties’ advantage. Each knows what is expected in terms of services and fees, so there is less chance of disappointments as the wedding day nears.

Many wedding services provide formal wedding contracts drawn up by their lawyers. These contracts are usually standard. It is best not to be put off by all the complex gobbleygook legalese. Although you do not always have to pay for your own lawyer, look over a contract, if you take the time to read it carefully. You should be able to get more than a gist of the language and undertaking yourself. Make sure that you read every line, foreword and backward, and understand every nuance- even the simplest phrases such as “and/ or” (for example “red and / or white wine”), may not be correct. You may wish at your event not have to have either red or white wine. You choose to have both red and white wine served. Next look to references in the text. For example the phrase “above”, may refer to a description of terms of events that are not your choice. Or refer to paragraph one, where paragraph one refers to a vendor’s decision which was exactly not the one that you chose. If you are not sure, or unsure of anything, now is the time to ask. There is nothing wrong in asking for clarification of the agreement and contract.

After all that is what the whole contract process is about – customer service, customer satisfaction with no misunderstandings.

Some vendors, especially those with small or informal businesses, may draft a handwritten agreement or use a simple proposal as the contract. In many cases this fine and standard practice. It is often the case that this suffices as the contract whereas a lengthy very expensive and overkill lawyers contract is needlessly long and complex for the situation. Both parties may well find it much easier – both for the agreement and work through. Remember that you are party to this process of the contract as well. If things – or a clause are not to your liking – then no need to be bulldozed or taken advantage of. Smaller, more personal vendors usually take a direct pride in their business and personal reputation. They want to do business with you. They want you to be happy and spread their word and reputation. After all business grown by word of mouth and referrals is the very best form of advertising and promotion there is.

For any document and contract to be legally binding both parties must sign the agreement – not only one side. Otherwise the contract is not binding and valid to both sides. In addition any changes that are made to the contract must be followed up by a letter from both sides.

Ensure to keep a copy of these signed contractual documents in a safe and accessible manner. You are not running a land titles or property tax assessment office.

However in the case of any changes or even disputes actual documentation goes a lot longer in a pinch of problems on a wedding day than simply a verbal recollection or misunderstanding by both sides of the agreements and contracts.

A Perfect Honeymoon In Aruba

By Justin Burch

When making lists of the world’s most romantic destinations and best sites to enjoy a honeymoon, travel experts always include cities like Paris and Venice. In the last few years, the island of Aruba has found its way onto many of these lists. With luxurious accommodations, gorgeous beaches and an incredible array of activities, it is no wonder that so many newlyweds have fallen in love with this Caribbean destination. The island of Aruba even offers special discount packages through many of the best resorts designed especially for those celebrating their honeymoon. Whether you and your significant other are looking for an exciting party atmosphere or a peaceful romantic getaway, you will find what you are looking for in Aruba.

If you and your significant other are the partying types, Aruba certainly won’t disappoint. Some of Aruba’s best resorts feature live entertainment and casinos, while local dance clubs keep the fun going throughout the night. In Oranjestad, Aruba’s cosmopolitan capital, bars generally don’t start filling up until 10 or 11 pm, but remain open until 2 am. Afterwards, the excitement in Aruba’s dance clubs peaks around 2 am with some establishments remaining open until the early morning. When couples combine a night in the clubs with a live stage show, a ride on one of the tour buses that run throughout the night and a few games at one of the 24-hour casinos, the result is the perfect way to start an exciting honeymoon in Aruba.

When the time comes to relax with your partner, Aruba offers plenty of great activities for the vacationing couple. Even if you don’t have partying on your mind, you can sip cocktails and enjoy live jazz every night of the week in Aruba. Afterwards, enjoy a candlelit dinner aboard one of the island’s many dinner cruises or simply watch the sunset from a world-class restaurant overlooking Palm Beach and the Caribbean Sea. You can then end your romantic evening with a moonlight stroll down one of the many beaches.

As the beaches are the most popular attraction in Aruba, vacationing couples won’t want to miss what Aruba has to offer. Many of the best resorts in Aruba are located within a short walk of Palm Beach, one of the most famous stretches of sand in the Caribbean. The sand on Palm Beach is groomed daily, while the calm, warm water is perfect for swimming and active water sports. Those in search of a romantic setting should also visit a pair of beaches just south of Palm Beach. Lying just beyond a rocky outcropping is Eagle Beach, a piece of sand that promises plenty of space to relax in the sun. Continuing south, Manchebo Beach has become a favorite of vacationing romantics. As Manchebo Beach boasts the widest plot of sugary sand on the island and motorized water sports are prohibited, this lovely beach has maintained an atmosphere of exotic seclusion.

Shopping is also a popular activity for every couple celebrating their honeymoon in Aruba. The boutiques and shopping malls in Oranjestad sell everything from designer clothing and jewelry to distinctive Caribbean souvenirs and locally produced artwork. Along the harbor in downtown Oranjestad, you will find all types of shops and restaurants set amongst historic Dutch architecture and unbeatable scenery. At night, the narrow streets of the capital city are romantically illuminated in neon, as the bars and clubs open their doors to after-hours shoppers.

As if the promise of exotic surroundings and exciting activities wasn’t enough to lure adventurous couples, Aruba has developed a special travel package for happy honeymooners. Known as ‘One Cool Honeymoon,’ the program offers couples a number of romantic perks and plenty of exclusive discounts. Supported by most of Aruba’s best hotels and resorts, this special package usually includes a complementary bottle of champagne, lucrative discounts within the resorts and discounts throughout the island on everything from spa packages to guided tours. When making reservations in Aruba, newlyweds simply need to mention the offer and inquire about what type of documentation might be required when checking in under the ‘One Cool Honeymoon’ program.

If you and your partner are in search of the right destination for your honeymoon, look no further than Aruba. With perfect weather and plenty of activities to keep the romance going, you may just make a tradition of visiting this Caribbean paradise.

Planning A Wedding Reception

By Caroline Silverstone

Nothing is quite as fun or as stressful as planning a really big party, and your wedding reception is one of the biggest parties that you will ever have. One of the concepts that most people bring into their wedding day is that the ceremony is for the bride and groom (although all are invited and encouraged to bear witness) but it is the reception that is going to stand out in the minds of the guests. With this in mind, it is clear why it is important to have a good idea when it comes to what goes into a wedding reception, who takes care of what, and all the basic elements.

Who pays?

One common misconceptions when it comes to traditional wedding ideas is that the father of the bride foots the bill for the whole day. In fact, the father of the bride traditionally only paid for the reception, and thus he was considered the host of the event.

Today, there are any number of options when it comes to payments. Couples may pay for their receptions themselves, the father or parents of the bride may pay, or the parents of the groom may pay. Of course, any combination of these is also a possibility. Still, more often than not it will end up being the bride’s dad who pays for the reception; just make sure that if you are doing it for tradition, that you are clear what the tradition really is!

Elements of the Reception

Depending on budget and time, there are several elements that are incorporated into wedding receptions. This checklist offers a general order, as well as some suggestions as to which vendor’s services are required.

Arrival of the Bride and Groom. This aspect is usually announced by the Master of Ceremonies, although the father of the bride may wish to do so if he is hosting the event. Guests will often begin arriving half an hour or so early, so it is important that they have some refreshments waiting for them. This may include some bottles of wine on the tables, a bar with a bartender, or a combination.

The Meal. Without exception, a wedding reception will include a meal. The meal is the responsibility of the caterer; if you use a professional company, then they will likely also provide you with your wine and champagne needs for the night. The Master of Ceremonies announces that dinner is about to be served and then calls each table up, beginning with the head table.

Program. Most wedding receptions will include a program when the meal concludes, before the cake is eaten. This program might incorporate an open mike, special music, and other presentations. The end of the program is signaled by the toasts. The toast to the bride is the most important of these, but there can also be toasts to the groom and the other members of the wedding party as well. Generally the wine at the tables is gone at this point, and the guests will toast with some champagne or more wine supplied from the bar.

Cake. The conclusion of the program means it is time to cut the cake! Many couples are adding dessert wines to their cake eating as a way to complement the experience.

Dance. Many people remember the dance as the most spectacular part of the wedding day. Whether you choose a live band or a DJ, the dance music should be suited to your own tastes. It’s a party atmosphere, and the drinks and the good will flow freely!

A wedding reception is what will truly mark your day apart from all others. The wedding reception should be planned to reflect the personalities of the couple in all aspects, from the meal to the drinks to the program and the dancing.

Honeymoon Ideas

By James Gunaseelan

Weddings take plenty of planning, and the honeymoon planning might be neglected with so many other people to take care of for the big day. The wedding and the parties before and after usually include many people. There are bridesmaids, ushers and parents to consider as well as guests from out of town. This is a colossal undertaking for many people, and the honeymoon planning is only for two. Wise wedding couples will not leave the honeymoon ideas too late because travel plans are better made far in advance. Transportation and accommodations often fill up months in advance so honeymoon ideas left too long might be very limited indeed.

The best place to start looking for honeymoon ideas is with the two people going on the honeymoon. The happy couple are the only people who matter on the honeymoon so these are the people that need to make these plans. Each couple should take some time to just consider honeymoon ideas when they know the date of the ceremony. They should decide what they will want to do after a hectic wedding schedule and the emotional times included in that planning. Some people will want to just relax while others may want to use the available free time to see some tourist sights or take a ski trip.

After the honeymoon couple decides what type of holiday they want, they can access several sources for honeymoon ideas and advice from other sources. People who have recently done similar travel can provide some great honeymoon ideas. Friends and family that have been on a cruise or to Florida recently will provide the best evaluation of those honeymoon destinations. The local newspapers often have travel columns with lots of great advice and information. Each couple should remember to check out the local newspaper for honeymoon ideas. Once the destination is agreed upon, it is time to make the reservations.

Travel magazines are great places to look for honeymoon ideas. These magazines will provide meaningful information on some great destinations. Those on a budget might want to start with looking for some bargains in the newspapers. There are often some great deals on airfare and on accommodations away from home. If money is not an object, the budget should be ready for an extravagant honeymoon, and then any destination is a possibility. Any honeymoon idea should be the beginning of the plans for a momentous occasion.

Wedding Ceremony: Arranging Your Bridal Party

By Michelle Lindsey

Planning a wedding is no easy task, to say the least. In fact, some will go as far as to say that a wedding is the most stressful event to plan. While deciding on a location for the ceremony and reception is a major part of planning the wedding, it’s the smaller details that contribute to the stress of wedding planning. Some of these details include finding the perfect wedding gown, bridal jewelry, wedding favors, and decorations. Another detail that a bride, along with her wedding coordinator, must decide on is how to arrange the bridal party during the ceremony.

Traditionally, the bride and groom will turn their backs toward the audience while the officiant faces the audiences. Some will argue that this arrangement makes it difficult for the guests to get the full effect of the bride’s wedding dress and bridal jewelry. It is believed that the bride’s attire is the focal point of the entire wedding ceremony. This being said, it is important that the wedding coordinator choose an appropriate arrangement for the bride and groom as well as the other members of the bridal party.

However, before the arrangement of the bridal is settled upon, the task of determining what the bride and her bridesmaids are going to wear for their wedding attire should be completed. As obvious as it may seem, many individuals do not realize that bridal attire plays an important factor in where the wedding will take place, what decorations to choose, and how to arrange the bridal party during the ceremony. While bridal jewelry may not affect the bridesmaids’ position during the wedding ceremony, their dress and choice of shoes may. This is attributed to the fact that many brides choose to arrange their bridesmaids and groomsmen according to their height as well as the role that they play during the wedding ceremony.

Quite often, the maid of honor is given the privilege of wearing a slightly different dress and set of bridal jewelry from the other bridesmaids. Her dress usually varies in style or in color and her bridal jewelry may be a little more elaborate than the other bridesmaids’. Because the maid of honor and best man play an exceptional role in the bride and groom’s lives, they have a stationary position in the wedding ceremony. Traditionally, the maid of honor and the best man stand next to the bride and groom, respectively, during the ceremony.

As for the other bridesmaids and groomsmen, they are usually paired together according to height for the sake of balance. On occasion, a husband and wife team may request that they walk down the aisle together and in such a case they are paired together for this reason. Depending on the size of the bridal party, the bridesmaids may stand to the left of the bride while the groomsmen stand to the right of the groom (assuming that the bride and groom’s backs are toward the audience). In other cases, the wedding coordinator may choose to allow each pair to stand together. Half of the couples will stand to the left of the bride while the other half stand to the right of the groom.

There is no set rule as to how the bridal party should be arranged during the ceremony. For most brides, it’s simply a matter of preference.

Wedding Photography & Wedding Photographers

By Paul Serellis

Wedding photographs should capture all the emotion, atmosphere and of course fun of the day. Images should be natural and relaxed, banish those 'stuffy posed' photos to the back of the drawer.

A wedding photographer's distinctive and renowned style of photography will enable the couple to relive the day fully for years to come. A wedding photographer should work with the couple and amongst their guests to capture many intimate moments and laughter throughout the entire wedding, quietly capturing real moments as they happen for the bride and groom.

A photographer should provide a superb collection of distinctive images, and work flexibly so the couple can select the photos to include in a package and perhaps arrange in a unique album to truly reflect the couple's special wedding day.

As a wedding is a one-time event, the wedding photographer must be alert and prepared for anything unexpected. Shooting a wedding is both exhausting and invigorating as the photographer is constantly looking for good light, great angles and opportunities for candid shots.

A well designed wedding album should be created with the couple’s expectations clearly in mind. Storybook wedding album pictures should have an excellent "flow" to show the wedding day unfolding.

Communication and planning time lines before the event will alleviate many of the stresses associated with photographing a wedding. An ability to tactfully take charge also helps - particularly when photographing large groups or families - a common expectation after the ceremony.

It is not unheard of for a photographer to work with an assistant who may carry their equipment, help round up guests and assist in the shooting through clothing adjustments or the holding up of reflectors. Assisting offers great experience for the "would be wedding photographer", and assistants should aim to work with as many photographers as possible.

Some individuals we live by the motto "How can I make a difference in the lives of others" so as a business a photographer should consider ways in which they can make a difference within the community and the wider world.

Having a run list with all of the expected shots is also a useful tool for the novice photographer.

Wedding photographers usually have an office or studio and some double as a Retail Photography Studio in many small towns and villages. In bigger cities you might find dedicated wedding studios that only shoot weddings and may have large studios equipped with make-up and hair and gowns ready for the bride to wear. Some studios also have arrangements with Bridal shops allowing the bride to try several gowns during her portrait session.

While the successful wedding photographer's responsibility is to the bride and groom, brides and their parents generally take greater interest in the results - don't they always??

The wedding photography profession is a rewarding and lucrative business to be in. If a photographer shows a caring and compassionate nature, he can become well known and make a good impression on customers.

Even though a photographer is behind the lens, the intimate moments they capture will be presented for generations to enjoy.

Weddings And Honeymoons In Mauritius

By Ben Cartwright

There can be few places more romantic than the Indian Ocean for your dream honeymoon or wedding in Mauritius. Mauritius in particular combines the magnificent scenery and beautiful beaches with luxury resorts inclusive of all the facilities you would expect from a five star destination. Beachcomber is a Mauritian owned hotel company, and as a result they have chosen the best spots on the island for each of their eight hotels and resorts. Each is as individual as you are, and offers a unique experience of this stunning, long haul destination.

Mauritius itself is located in the Southern Hemisphere, just on the Tropic of Capricorn, surrounded by unstoppable views of the azure waters of the Indian Ocean. The island itself is small, with a journey from top to bottom taking no longer than 2 hours. The capital is the vibrant Port Louis on the north west coast, with the main business district being Curepipe in the centre of the island. Temperatures are warm year round, dropping to around 24 degrees in June/July, and creeping up to the low 30’s in January/February. Rainfall is lowest in June, July, and only up to about 9 inches for January/February…… all in all a year round destination.

Weddings at Beachcomber Hotels are popular with around 300 every year taking place, in one of the 8 hotels. They guarantee only one wedding each day in any one hotel, so you can rest assured that on your special day you will have the undivided attention from all the hotel staff! They offer expertise and unrivaled attention to detail, in a wonderful location. You will also meet your own personal wedding coordinator, who will take care of everything from matching bouquets and button holes, to arrange witnesses for your ceremony if required. You are free to choose where you get married within the resort, whether it is in the stunning gardens, by a pool or on the beach, the flexibility and choice really is yours.

All of the hotels in the Beachcomber group are suitable for weddings and honeymoons, and choosing will really depend on your particular requirements. If undiluted luxury in a small, boutique, Leading Hotel of the World is what you are looking for, then the Royal Palm is a must. This is arguably the premier hotel on Mauritius, with the finest discrete service, first class accommodation, and an unrivalled location, on a stunning beach, close to Grand Baie.

If you are looking for relaxed, barefoot romance in understated accommodation, with a choice of fine dining then the Trou Aux Biches hotel is a must. Located on one of the best beaches on the island, the Trou Aux Biches is one of the most popular choices for weddings and honeymoons in the Indian Ocean. The friendly relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere makes a stay here one you will savour and want to repeat.

If you are are looking for some activity during your honeymoon, then the Shandrani hotel comes highly recommended. It is a superb five star all inclusive hotel with a unique combination of superb accommodation and facilities, with a fully inclusive service. Not only are all your meals and drinks included, but so are some spa treatments, and most of the sporting activities including scuba diving.

Paradis and Dinarobin Hotels are located on the stunning south west peninsula of the island, with Le Morne Mountain as a backdrop to the azure waters of the Indian Ocean. These hotels offer spacious resorts, with elegant and luxurious accommodation. Paradis is the more vibrant of the two, with more rooms, restaurants, pools and a beach. The Dinarobin is the more elegant of the two, with all suite accommodation and a stunning spa. Whichever you choose to stay at, the facilities of the others are available for your use.

Finally the three other hotels, Le Victoria, Le Canonnier and Le Mauricia. These are the most vibrant of the Beachcomber hotels, and offer excellent value for money. Le Victoria is particularly suitable for families, and is offered on a half board basis. It’s located close to Port Louis, and Grande Baie, so if you get itchy feet then it’s well worth considering. Both Le Canonnier and Le Mauricia are fantastic value, both are inclusive hotels and great if you have a lively group for a wedding. They are located on the north west of the island. Le Canonnier is on the old Cannon Point, one of the most spectacular locations, with uninterrupted views of the Ocean in more than one direction! Le Mauricia is closer to Grand Baie, and strolls along the beach in the evening for pre dinner drinks or a wonder around the shops are well recommended.

In all a honeymoon or wedding in Mauritius won’t disappoint. The attention to detail for your wedding, with personal wedding co-ordinators, and the guarantee of only one wedding a day ensures that the day is as perfect as you planned. The choice of hotels, accommodations, dining options and locations will guarantee you can find a perfect location for the honeymoon of your dreams.

Britney Spears Could Find Her Next Bridal Bouquet In A Magazine

Copyright © 2007-2008 Wesley Berry, AAF

Pop princess Britney Spears is back on the singles scene, which begs the question, will she try her hand at married life again? Well, if she does, she'll have plenty of places to look to for inspiration for her perfect wedding flowers-including two brand new magazines aimed at helping brides choose the perfect arrangements to top off their wedding celebrations: The Bride & Bloom and Portovert magazines.

Bride & Bloom has featured floral designs by a number of shops from around the country, including:

  • Elegance & Simplicity of Bethesda, Maryland.

  • Square Root Designs of Irvine, California.

  • Blooms Boutique of Elmhurst, New York.

Carol Poon, who serves as Bride & Bloom's editor-in-chief, was once a florist herself, so she says she knows the business. She says of the magazine, "I wanted something that gives brides and wedding pros information on décor, especially focusing on flowers."

The magazine's web site will feature an interactive tool that lets brides "click and drag" a variety of flowers from its floral library to create virtual bouquets, table settings, and centerpieces.

Portovert magazine calls itself the "first and only magazine for eco-savvy brides and grooms." The magazine is designed to provide brides and grooms with environmentally friendly alternatives for every aspect of their wedding event, including gowns, invitations, and flowers.

Portovert's editor Meghan Meyers calls the magazine a "responsible resource guide." The magazines website will be available to customers beginning in late January of 2007, but the first print edition will not be available until the fall of 2007. It will, of course, be printed on 100 percent recycled paper.

Although both magazines are sure to provide good resources for floral design ideas, it will still be the florists who are charged with delivering gorgeous flowers perfect for the couple's wedding. The magazines can, however, provide a jumping off point for florists and couples to begin discussing flower choices. Magazines can be used to:

  • Choose types of flowers.

  • View different styles of design.

  • Pick colors and color combinations.

  • Decide what types of arrangements are needed.

So, when Britney Spears is ready to take another walk down the aisle, perhaps she'll want to pick up a magazine or two to help plan her wedding flowers.

    By Catty

Every one who is getting marry will be very excited, as they are having the great life. It is the most important part of one’s life that it is the time to have their own family. However, as we all know that wedding reception is also very important for the couple, because it is only the time that couple has a chance to say thank you or some words to friends, relatives, parents, colleagues and so on. It is also the occasion that they will get the best wish from their friends and colleagues for happy marriage.

According to this reason, wedding reception becomes very important. As it is the place and occasion that couple has opportunity to welcome guests who comes to congratulate to them. Therefore, it is very important to make impressive reception for all of those guests.

In general, wedding reception cost a lot of money because there will be hundreds of guest to come to congratulate to the couple and the venue is definitely have to be comfortable and big enough to welcome certain number of guest who will come to the reception. If the couple is planning to organize wedding reception in the hotel, the venue have to be book perhaps one to two months in advance because if they leave the venue unbooked until the last minute, it is greater chance of losing the venue. Also venue booking is the first thing that they have to do immediately when they know the number of guest who will come and availability of budget and it would be more difficult if they want to organize the wedding reception on weekends as there might be other looking for the venue too.

In general practice, many couples love to organize in the big and luxurious hotel. This is because the hotel services cover all area that the reception needs such as catering, entertainment, stage, light and sound and so on. So it is like one stop shop for couple to organize the event. Apart from that, some luxurious provide private zone for client who want to organize the event private by invite only some people in the family to the reception.

When you get the idea where you will organize the reception, then the couple has to decide how many guests that they are going to invite. This stage is very important because has direct impact to the budget that they have. Sometimes it is really hard to make decision because when they have vary little budget but there are so many people to be invited and they think that they are all very important. Now it is the time for them that they have to make decision. The only suggestion here is they have to choose any one in the family should get the first priority and all other people that both of you are respect and some of important colleagues such as big boos of the company respectively. However, if the budget is not enough for many group of people as mentioned, so only members of the family must be included first.

The History Of Linen: From Ancient Pharaohs To Modern Day Wedding Linen Rentals

    By Janet Ireland

When you are shopping for wedding table linens, you may not know that the fabric you are choosing has an ancient and elegant history. Linen started with humble beginnings—it comes from the flax seed and is the earliest vegetable fabric to be woven but soon became a symbol of refinement, dignity and good taste. When you are choosing wedding linen rentals, you can feel assured that you are following in the path of kings, priests and leaders of taste by selecting linens for your wedding linen rentals.

The Symbolism of Wedding Table Linens

Linen textiles may be the oldest in the world. Their history goes back many thousands of years. Fragments of straw, seeds, fibers, yarns and various types of fabrics which dating back to about 8000 B.C. have been found in Swiss lake dwellings. Linen similar to that used for your wedding table linens was used in the Mediterranean in the pre-Christian age. Linen was sometimes used as currency in ancient Egypt. Egyptian mummies were wrapped in linen because it was seen as a symbol of light and purity, and as a display of wealth. This symbolism suits wedding table linens perfectly, as a wedding also represents a moment of newness and pure love.

Wedding Table Linens and A Royal Past

In the earliest Biblical times, linen appears as the fabric of choice for high-ranking religious and government officials, not to mention the Saints! Priests of all denominations have been known to wear linen because of its purity, and linen was the favorite fabric of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs—often the fabric is one of the few surviving artifacts found in ancient ruins. For help with custom linens for your next special event visit http://www.magicalpartyrentals.com.

Nearly 4,000 years ago, the Phoenicians (known for their ships and trade on the high seas) opened up new channels of commerce to the peoples of the Mediterranean and introduced flax growing and the making of linen into Ireland before the birth of Christ. Hundreds of years later, Belfast would have The Royal Manufactory of Linen and Damask, and would serve some of history’s greatest royal families with the highest quality linen fabrics, including providing for their wedding table linens.

    Wedding Table Linens Today

Today, linen is embroidered all over the world, especially in Portugal, Spain, France and Italy. The Italians have mastered the dying of this fiber, which results in its extraordinary variety and depth of color unequaled on cotton.

Egypt and Ireland are the two countries that come to mind in connection with the ancient history of linen, and up to the 1950’s, Ireland, France and Belgium were considered the finest producers of flax. Now, it is also massively cultivated in China. So, when you are choosing wedding linens, you know that you are participating in the exciting history of one of the world’s most widely respected fabrics.

From this history of linen we learn that linen is the noblest cloth, it is the strongest and purest material, it is unharmed by germs, and it resists time and humidity, while gaining extreme softness with time. You may have experienced the fact that the most delicious of all linen sheets are the ones that have been stored in grandmother’s cupboard. It was the cloth of Pharaohs, Priests, and Kings. It remains the noblest and most luxurious material for the confection of the finest lingerie and nightwear, bed and table linen, decorative fabrics and, of course, wedding table linens. From the finest handkerchief to the thickest double damask tablecloth, there are literally dozens of ways to spoil yourself with linen. Start with the linens you choose for your wedding and experience what it means to become a part of history.

Gothic Weddings - Planning The Wedding Of Your Darkest Dreams

    By Denise Sanger

A Gothic wedding doesn't necessarily have the bride dressed in black, black makeup, skulls and all other types of gruesome items everywhere - despite popular belief. Now, if that's what you want, go for it, but that doesn't necessarily fit the "Gothic" theme. The bride could easily get away with a white gown if that is what she would like to wear. The bride could walk down the isle to Metallica, but she could also easily walk down the aisle to the typical wedding theme. The choice is up to the Gothic bride.

As our Gothic bride enters the room, her dress isn't the typical "Gothic" standard, by any means, but it suits her none the less. Her dress is white, with lace draped along the neck line. Our bride's hair is pulled back into a simple bun. The first difference between her Gothic wedding and any other wedding is our bride is not walking down the aisle to any typical love song, but instead our couple is loudly playing a Metallica song. How bizarre? Not exactly.

Weddings are meant to express ourselves and our partner as we accept each other into our lives. Some brides prefer the traditional wedding, but not all do. Our Gothic bride prefers anything but the traditional. Her music of choice? Metallica. Her wedding of choice? More of a romantic gothic theme. Her wedding ceremony will not be held in a traditional church. Instead her wedding ceremony is at the center of a cathedral. Draped along the walls is heavy velvet fabric, and along the aisle are scattered petals of roses in red, white, and black. Both the ceremony and the reception will be celebrated in this room.

The guests are all sitting around tables draped in deep red cloth. Atop each of these tables are 4 small black boxes, with surprise wedding favors inside. Black velvet photo frames displaying our couple are set in the center of the tables as well. Burgundy and black satin pillow sachets displaying the guests' names are set around the table as seat assignments later to be taken with as a party gift. The wedding, even though it is meant to be "gothic", doesn't have to be dark and dreary and the wedding favors chosen can be any type that the Gothic couple likes. One Gothic couple decided to hand out heart shaped cookie cutters as wedding day favors. Another couple chose candle wedding favors with XOXO printed in black across them.

Other items ideal for favors for guests can be heart shaped silver corkscrews for those that enjoy a good glass of wine from time to time. Or perhaps a deck of cards in the shape of a heart, or with a wedding couple printed on the front that is actually two dogs. If you're a little nervous on handing out an item to someone that they might not like, small leather picture key chains are an item that is just about perfect for any guest, a neutral item that any one can enjoy! Just because we're going gothic doesn't mean you can't have a little fun in the process!

Remember, a wedding above all else is a celebration, have fun no matter what wedding theme you choose!

Arranged Marriage - Finding A Suitable Partner

    By James Gunaseelan

Marriage is an interpersonal relationship with governmental, social, or religious recognition, usually intimate and sexual, and often created as a contract, or through civil process. Civil marriage is the legal concept of marriage. The most common form of marriage unites a man and a woman as husband and wife. Other forms of marriage also exist; for example, polygamy, in which a person takes more than one spouse (marriage partner), is common in many societies.Beginning in 2001, civil marriage in some places has been expanded to include same-sex marriage.

The reasons people marry vary, but usually include one or more of the following: legal, social and economic stability; the formation of a family unit; procreation and the education and nurturing of children; legitimizing sexual relations; public declaration of love. A marriage is often declared by a wedding ceremony, which may be performed by a religious officiator, through a similar government-sanctioned secular officiator, or (in weddings that have no church or state affiliation) by a trusted friend of the wedding participants. The act of marriage usually creates obligations between the individuals involved, and in many societies, their extended families.

In order to get married, it is necessary to find a suitable partner. A partner may be found by the person wishing to be married via a process of courtship. Alternately, two marriage-able people may be matched by a third party, typically with the match finalized only if both candidates approve the union. This is known as an arranged marriage.

The choice between courtship and arranged marriage is made by the person seeking marriage or by his or her parents. In some cases, the parents will be ready to force an arranged marriage because of cultural tradition (e.g., in the Middle East) or for some other special reason (e.g., dowry). It is worth noting, however, that in many cases the person seeking marriage is comfortable with having his or her marriage arranged and, even disregarding parental preference, would freely choose an arranged marriage. Actual forced marriage is common in only a few communities and often attracts harsh criticism even from people who are generally in favor of arranged marriage.

Given a choice, the preference for the method of courtship or arranged marriage is determined by whether a person believes that marriage should be based on emotion or logic. At one end of the scale is a person who believes that there is only one unique "soul mate" suitable for them. A partner is typically chosen based on the depth of emotional connection experienced with their partner during the courtship phase of the relationship. At the other end of the scale is a person who believes that there are many suitable partners, and typically views marriage chiefly as a means to start a family. The deep emotional bond between partners characteristic of good marriages is more likely to be viewed as something which can be developed through nurture and cultivation with any suitable partner. Most people fall somewhere between these two extremes. Rights and obligations.

A Kenya Honeymoon Safari Holiday Staying At Finch Hattons Camp

    By Peter R Stewart

Quality safari holidays even in Kenya aren’t cheap, although they are terrific value for money if you are travelling to Kenya from Europe or the USA. If you want to have a have a truly memorable honeymoon safari, or any top end safari holiday in Kenya, then there really are very few Camps to choose from. One of the very best is Finch Hattons Camp in Tsavo West National Park, Kenya’s single biggest game reserve.

Finch Hatton the aristocrat played by Robert Redford in the film ‘Out of Africa’ was a man with some style, and when he went on safari he took with him fine wines, crystal glasses, Mozart, and real porcelain.

Finch Hattons Camps are designed to reproduce this level of style, and that by itself is a very good reason for staying here on a honeymoon safari

Another one of the reasons for choosing Finch Hattons for your top end safari holiday in Kenya, or your honeymoon safari is the sheer quality of the camp. A camp is open to the wild and unfenced and that always adds to the feeling of being right in the African wilderness. What this in fact means is that Lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos and many others wander through the camp as they wish.

Distance from Nairobi can be an important factor especially after a wedding perhaps in Europe, and along international flight. Finch Hattons is only a 55 minute flight from either Nairobi or Mombasa, and the camp has its own airstrip

The camp accommodates up to 50 people which is a good number for interesting conversations with other guests.

The accommodation is in large safari tents with deluxe beds, fully stocked mini bar, ensuite toilet, wash basin, and large slate walled shower room. There is mostly solar heated hot and cold running water, and permanent electrical supply to all the tents.

In the main lodge there is a restaurant, bar, lounge and terrace, and that is where breakfast and lunch takes place overlooking the main Hippo pool, wit the beautiful snow capped Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.

The bar is open all day, and there is pool service to the swimming pool for relaxation between game drives.

Finch Hattons surrounds a natural freshwater spring which flows through three pools with accommodation tents along the water’s edge. The springs are where a resident pod of hippos lives, and during the day they wallow in the ponds, and then at night they come out and graze in the camp. There are also crocodiles terrapins, and monitor lizards plus a spectacular and large selection of bird species.

Food at Finch Hattons Camp is a major item in the day, and the six course dinner is the highlight with all the panache and style that would get the approval of Finch Hatton himself, down to traditional tunic worn by the servants. You will find the food of high quality, and the service out of the top drawer.

Without specifically mentioning the game drives, you can be assured that they in common with everything else associated with Finch Hattons are superbly well organised, and take place mainly early in the morning and late afternoon. There are also Nature walks where you will get a real chance to see game.

Choose Finch Hattons Camp for your honeymoon safari or Kenya safari Holiday, and you will not be disappointed

Custom Design Your Wedding Ring With Tips From A Pro

    By Andy Moquin

Once you receive your engagement ring you may spend hours staring at it while dreaming about a wedding ring and how it should fit. There are amazing engagement ring styles being made today and some of them come with wonderful matching wedding rings however, many don't. I've seen couples travel from jewelry store to jewelry store in search of a perfect wedding band only to be disappointed when they realize that nothing fits properly with their ring. When they stumble upon a jeweler that can provide a custom designed wedding band they find it difficult to make a decision. This is largely due to the jewelers inability to provide a life-like sample or illustration of how the ring is going to look when its finished. Most people have a difficult time visualizing conceptual items like custom jewelry because they don't know what to expect and also because the design is in the jeweler's mind not theirs.

An experienced and professional custom jeweler will have the skills needed to provide a detailed account of how your ring will look. In addition, he/she should be a good communicator while assessing your needs and transferring those needs in to the actual jewelry design. Without proper translation of your wants and desires the ring may not be everything you dreamed of and a good custom jeweler will understand this. Bottom line is this...Great wedding rings are created not by great jewelers but also great communicators. When selecting a craftsman to make your wedding ring, examine the person's portfolio of previous work, but also take note of how you both work together. If you have good synergy and communicate well together then you'll have a better chance of getting an amazing wedding ring that you'll be happy with.

Another important variable is the person doing the assembly of your custom wedding ring; the person designing your ring may not be the person making it. The designer that you work with could do a wonderful job creating a concept for your item but the jeweler making it could be a poor craftsman or bad interpreter of your designer's concept. If the designer isn't the person making your ring then you should get a feel for how the two work together. Ask to meet the craftsman and have a joint discussion to determine if everyone is on the same page. While we are on the subject of the craftsman, make sure that the jeweler actually assembling the ring can provide examples of his craftsmanship. A jeweler without adequate experience in custom jewelry design may set diamonds poorly or weld metal improperly. This can result in a finished product that doesn't look good or you could receive a ring with a history of problems like stone loss from its setting. There are credentials that help determine how qualified a jeweler is at making custom jewelry. One such credential is the Jewelers of America (JA) Master Jeweler program. A person that is certified by JA to be a "Master Jeweler" is certainly the most qualified person for the job and you can be rest assured that he has been tested in all areas of jewelry making.

The next thing you should understand is how the jewelry is actually made. When making custom jewelry, the designer will of course first create a concept for you. Once you feel comfortable with the design a counter sketch or illustration is given to a model maker along with your ring. The model maker will carve a wax prototype of your prospective wedding ring design based on these counter sketches. This model maker should take in account all the design elements that are important to you while providing a ring that best compliments your engagement ring and its specific features. It's always a really good thing when a model maker can identify things about your engagement ring that make it special. He/she can then re-create those special features in your design; this will make the two rings look like they were made for each other from the start. Special features can include methods of diamond setting, precious metal types, profiles, heights, widths, etc. The wax prototype should be used for two purposes, the first is a sample that you can try on or rest next to your engagement ring. This prototype will be very useful because it will give you a very good idea of how the wedding band will look when it is finished. If you're not happy with the original design or you would like to make changes it shouldn't be a problem because the ring isn't made yet, it's just a wax model.

After the appropriate changes are made and you approve the final prototype, a jeweler will make mold of the wax. The prototype wax is placed in a flask and filled with plaster. Once the plaster hardens, the flask is placed in an oven and the wax model is burned out of the flask leaving a cavity in the exact impression of your design. The flask is then injected with molten metal and once the metal cools the plaster is broken away leaving you with a casting of the jewelry design. This casting is filed, polished and then the final assembly process begins.

Another thing to look for is the use of new technologies when creating your custom wedding ring design. The best example of this is 3D Computer Aided Design or otherwise known as CAD design. Recent advances in this arena have allowed for amazing possibilities when designing jewelry. CAD software is used to create a computer model of the design and then is sent to a CNC (computer numerical control) mill that cuts the wax in a very precise manner. The benefit of CAD design is the capability to create very precise jewelry designs that are for more accurate than a hand-carved wax model. In the end, the precision of the CAD wax allows for much more intricate design capabilities and also finer quality assembly. The CAD models can also be rendered using graphical interfaces such as Flamingo3D, which use both raytracing and radiosity to make a life-like illustration of the design. This computer rendering is far more useful in depicting your design then a drawing scribbled on scratch paper.

Currently, only a handful of jewelers are using 3D CAD design technology and this is due to the high cost of the software, equipment, and training. You should however, check with your local jeweler or do an Internet search to see who is available to use this technology. Whenever possible, choose the person that employs the use of 3D CAD because you'll get a better quality product. You can learn more about this process and viewed at http://www.rokstok.com. Keep in mind that not all jewelers using 3D CAD are automatically qualified to make your wedding ring. You still need to qualify them just as you would a person that is using traditional techniques to make your item. In the end, the best way to go about your design is to screen the people making your item and assess their communication skills to determine if they understand your needs.

Choosing The Perfect Cubic Zirconia Engagement Ring

    By Melanie Spark

Whether you are planning a wedding or celebrating the life that you already share with someone, choosing the perfect ring to symbolize your commitment is important. Because cubic zirconia is strong, durable and less expensive than diamonds, it is often worn as an engagement and/or wedding ring.

If you're in the market for a cubic zirconia engagement ring, your first consideration will be the cut of your gemstone. Like all other gemstones, cubic zirconia is available in all of the traditional styles that one would expect from an engagement ring. Among them, round, marquise, princess, emerald, oval, heart, etc. In some cases, an engagement ring may also feature a solitaire accented by smaller gemstones along the band.

Once you've chosen the shape of your cubic zirconia, you will need to think about a preference in carat weight. One of the many benefits to wearing a cubic zirconia engagement ring is achieving believability without spending a fortune. Depending on your preference and budget, you can choose a ring featuring a one-carat solitaire and, for those who really want to be noticed, the larger carat weights will provide the perfect ring.

When it comes to choosing the right cubic zirconia engagement ring, finding the perfect fit is crucial. It's not only important to know your ring size, but it's equally important to consider the design of the ring. A ring that features a wide band or is considerably thick may require that you go up a size for the perfect fit, whereas a slender band will typically fit true to size. If in doubt, visit a jeweler and have your finger sized to ensure a perfect fit. If you order a sterling silver ring that needs only a minor adjustment in the size, most jewelers can easily resize this precious metal for a small fee.

Last but certainly not least, cost is almost always a factor when choosing any type of engagement ring. As mentioned earlier in this article, cubic zirconia is an affordable way to get the look of a flawless gemstone. The size of the solitaire and the amount of metal used in the creation of the ring will have an impact on the final price, which means that sterling silver is an affordable and precious metal to use for any type of ring. In fact, many of today's most popular designs in cubic zirconia engagement rings are created in sterling silver. Because of it's durability, this metal is the perfect compliment to the strength of cubic zirconia.

In conclusion, shopping for an engagement ring is a big step, but it doesn't have to be a tedious one thanks to the convenience of the world wide web. By shopping online, consumers will find a virtual jewelry store at their fingertips. Regardless of the size, shape, design or style, there's something to fit almost every taste and budget. Like cubic zirconia, the choice is clear for those looking to say 'I Do' with a beautiful and affordable ring that will last for many years to come.

How To Select The Right Specialty Linens For Your Wedding

    By Janet Ireland

Every Detail Counts When Choosing Your Wedding Linen Rentals

When planning your wedding, you want to be sure to select the correct specialty linens for the event. Wedding linen rentals are a critical ambiance element to just about every wedding. Whether you are having your wedding at a banquet hall, country club or at home wedding – most likely you will be having a large crowd and will need to understand what is needed to place your specialty linen order.

When making linen orders, begin by understanding exactly what tables or other surfaces you need linens for. Perhaps you also need napkins so other types of linens will need to be rented. If you are having your wedding reception at a country club or banquet hall, contact the catering manager and ask them for the dimensions of each table so that you can place your order. The higher quality linen rental companies will ask you for this information. Learn how you can transform your upcoming wedding experience into a magical one with custom wedding linen rentals at http://www.magicalpartyrentals.com.

Placing an Order for Linen Rentals is Not That Complicated

Most linen rentals companies will typically ask you for a fifty percent deposit. Or they may ask you for credit card information or other information to secure the order. This is to secure your order. Be sure to follow their instructions when placing your order. It is important that you double-check your order when sending it into the company. Your writing one digit wrong could result in the difference between 16 versus 160 tablecloths showing up for your daughter’s wedding.

Weddings can be exciting, but they can also be a very stressful time. Have someone else check over your order before it gets sent into the company. This will ensure that you are not making an error your order in amount, linen color or exactly what you need. Be sure to confirm the number of guests and tables before placing your order so that you are ordering exactly the number that you need.

Make a Big Impact With Custom Linens at Your Wedding

If your wedding is extra-special (and what wedding isn’t?), then you may decide to go with something custom made at your wedding. Custom linens are an excellent choice if you have tables that are a unique size or if you would like to use a particular type of fabric. You can always tell when a wedding has custom linens. It’s like the difference between an off-the-rack rented tuxedo and buying a tuxedo made especially for you. When the tailoring is custom made, you can truly see the difference. Many brides and grooms have been pleased with the fine detail that these personalized linens show to their weddings. Custom linens are a great way to make your wedding look quite elegant in a subtle way.

    Wedding Day Jewelry

    By Karen Lincoln

It is natural for you to desire your wedding day to be the ideal day and look exceptional. Arrangements, time and again, looks towards spotlighting the wedding dress, but other than that there are a lot of additional aspects that need to be taken care of to accentuate your appearance. Most people set on a 'look' or a specific theme for the wedding day. It may take quite some time to get things together, like a striking pair of footwear or a gorgeous bunch of flowers that adds to the look of the dress or maybe even the entire ceremony. No matter what stimulates you, it is an excellent thought to make an effort and get a hold of every detail to highlight the attire.

Shopping for Wedding Day Jewelry and Wedding Rings: Avoid purchasing the wedding ring in a hurry. The wedding day jewelry is important to your appearance on the big day. You can start by visiting a jeweler’s website, which is a fantastic way to begin and even visit the shops personally.

Websites are superb for getting your hands on extraordinarily large or small dimensions and most vendors commonly propose to transport it within a few days of you placing your order. You can access the details of the jewelry in the wedding day jewelry section of the site, as well as look at the huge photos of the same, before making a final choice.

The kind of jewellery to wear on the wedding day: If you planning on a traditional church wedding and are planning to wear a traditional, meringue-y wedding dress, in that case you can pull off huge, attention-grabbing pieces of jewellery. You could try stunning diamond earrings with an identical tennis wristlet and a fragile locket. If you are tight on a budget, you can get the identical appearance for a part of the cost with striking cubic zirconia adaptations of characteristic pieces of jewellery. To add the right ornaments to a strapless wedding dress, attempt a loosely brush up-do to bring everyone’s notice to your shoulders, with a quantity of plain, graceful drop earrings that will move about and twirl and grab the lights. Diamond earrings will outline and illuminate your expressions for all the photos, adding to the bashful look.

The jewelry you choose should be chosen to suit your dress, complexion, hair style and the time and venue of the occasion. You should pre-plan the attire well in advance, to avoid any misfit on the final day. It pays to look around a while and conduct some research online and offline. Window shopping helps a lot too and you will be amazed at the range available. The choice of jewelry should be made alongside that of the dress and hairdo.

Remember plan ahead so you can take your time and enjoy the experience. Making a day of it with your bridesmaids is always a fun option, where you can include the dresses hairstyles and jewelry all on one day. Remember even if you did this you still don’t have to make final decisions that day. Take a step back before deciding and don’t get caught up in the excitement too much!
