  • If you are having a facial done, make sure it is at least two weeks prior to your wedding.

  • If your skin is prone to breakouts, see your dermatologist 3 or 4 months before your wedding

Olesya Sudzilovskaya
  • Staying hydrated is important to keeping you looking refreshed. Drinking lots of water will also flush out impurities from the skin.

  • Eyebrows should be shaped 5-7 days before the wedding. Be sure not to pluck on your wedding day because you could land up with unattractive red bumps that are difficult to cover.
Ani Lorak

  • On your wedding day blend your makeup well and let set. You do not need extra makeup to please the camera - that's a myth.

  • Choose a lipstick that lasts. Apply just prior to walking down the isle. Go easy on the lip liner. Be sure to check that you don't have lipstick on your teeth.

  • Line and fill mouth with a neutral pencil to make lipstick stay on longer.

  • To lengthen wearing time of your lipstick, apply a light layer of powder over your lipstick then apply another layer of lipstick

Katherine Heigl

  • If you are doing your own makeup, see a beauty consultant and purchase your make up at least 3 months in advance. Then practice until you've got the perfect makeup.

  • Waterproof mascara is a great idea just incase you get a little weepy.

  • A very light application of facial powder will set your makeup and reduce

  • Keep your powder, mascara, and lipstick in your purse so you can freshen up at a moments notice.

  • If you discover that dreaded pimple on your wedding day, do not squeeze it! Just apply a drop of visene to get the red out, cover with concealer, and apply foundation.

  • Wear a button shirt when applying your makeup so you don't mess up your makeup. When slipping into your gown put a towel over your face so you don't get makeup on your wedding dress.

Hilary Duff

  • Avoid glittery or dewy looks - these are not very receptive for photographs and you may come out looking greasy

  • If your wedding is outside be sure to apply sunscreen first

  • Water based foundation looks most natural in photos

  • For eye contouring, apply a dark but neutral in the crease of the eye. You can line the upper and lower lids (optional) with brown or grey shadow, smudging the outer corners

  • If you need to make your eyes look wider or brighter, use a white pencil to line the inside of the lower lids.

  • Don't get too much sun before your wedding. Sunburns, peeling skin and tan lines can sabotage your special day.

  • Make certain your wedding photographer is "not" using grainy film, because no matter how good your makeup is, with grainy film it will not look good

  • Make sure your wedding photographer is using high quality film so your photos do your wedding makeup justice

  • For your makeup to look good in your photos, it must be completely matte and in neutral tones, brides usually prefer a little color. Pastels look soft and pretty, but avoid glitter, shimmer and frosted eyeshadows.

  • Shine is the #1 enemy for photos.

  • Don't apply white or black eye shadow

  • Olive complexions should not use gray shades

  • Pale complexions should not use vibrant colors.

To relieve stress you can have a makeup artist do your wedding day makeup. If you enjoy doing your own makeup but need some more tips, visit a makeup consultant.

It's your day! You are going to look absolutely beautiful!

Wedding Photographers Can Market More Effectively by Placing Wedding Venue Comments on Website

By Vanessa Honda

The wedding photography industry is competitive. To thrive in this environment, most photographers need to execute an effective marketing plan. With increased traffic going to the web, having a web strategy is essential. This article looks at how listing local wedding venues on a photography website along with some photography related commentary can benefit the photographer, his clients and the wedding venue.

The photographer benefits by having these listings on the site because it conveys the message that he is an expert in the area, his key search engine rankings will be enhanced and his relationship with vendors can be built.

When a client reads a comment on various wedding locations from a photographer's perspective, he is able to see the depth of the author's knowledge. He is able to see that the photographer is not just a startup shooting his first wedding, but is an experience professional with a detailed knowledge of shooting in a number of different locations. A potential client can also get a feel for a photographer's shooting style and preferences as he reads the critiques. The client should also gain some insight on the photographic benefits of choosing one venue over another.

Additionally, writing these evaluations can help the photographer's website improve its page ranking on valuable keywords. When posting a venue commentary it is helpful to the client to see an address. This address will have the city's name tied to it. This will help a website gain search engine strength on the name of the city.

A photographer can also create contacts and enhance his relationships with the venue managers by posting venue comments on his website. Like the photographer, the venue is in business and is benefited by additional exposure. By contacting the venue and explaining his plans to write the commentary and asking for feedback, a photographer can establish a positive working relationship with the venue managers.

With the advent of digital photography and relatively cheap digital cameras and related software, the photography industry has become increasingly competitive as more people are entering its ranks. Adding helpful content - such as venue listings will help a photographer distinguish himself from the majority of these professionals.

Planning Your Dream Wedding Video

By William Lee

Having a professional videographer at your special day is the perfect way to capture those precious moments and store the experience to re-live time and again. With careful planning and preparation, you can be sure to have a film that you will cherish and enjoy for a lifetime. A key factor when finding your videographer is to have a skilled person behind the camera. As well as checking for proper credentials and being registered with professional bodies, you should ask to view examples of your prospective videographer's portfolio. Different recording and editing styles will appeal to different people, so it is important to have an idea of the final product and be sure it is one that you are happy with. An experienced videographer should have plenty of references available. Don't be afraid to ask for them.

The location will set the tone for your video. Make sure you get the consent of the venue where you are holding your ceremony and reception. Photogenic locations will be available throughout your day, but take the time to visit your venue(s) and find the particular areas you would most like to be included as a backdrop to your wedding day. Stairways, windows, fireplaces, gardens, lawns, gazebos, balconies, gateways and arches all provide good opportunities for creating interest in the frame and adding to the ambiance of the setting.

Lighting is an important element to consider when planning your video. Visit the locations for your day and check that there is sufficient lighting, or if candles, lamps or lanterns are available or can be introduced if required to enhance and add to the ambiance. Ask your videographer to visit the venues with you and take advise on whether they may need to bring professional lighting equipment. Remember the time of day and even time of year that you visit might not reflect the full circumstances that you will have on your wedding day.

Choose music carefully for your ceremony and first dance. Music will add to the ambiance and relax you and your guests. Practice your first dance and consider having lessons to liven up your performance. If you are having live musicians, seek their consent to keep their music on the video. Check with your videographer that they hold the necessary licenses for having copyrighted music on the video recording. In addition to the music played on the day, you may be asked to prepare a list of songs that you would like to be included on the final edit of the video, such as providing a musical backdrop to images of you getting ready or travelling to the ceremony. Choose songs that appeal to both you and your spouse-to-be, that are in keeping with the tone you wish to convey.

Your appearance will be a high priority on the day and you may prefer to wear slightly heavier make up than usual to give a flawless, long lasting finish. Keep a mirror and key ingredients such as lip balm and pressed powder handy throughout the day, so you can check and touch up your make up if needed. Having your hair professionally styled will help to create a glamourous look and provide a reliable hairdo that won't come undone mid-day. Have a trial run of your hair and makeup before the day itself, to decide on the most flattering look for your day. Ask your bridesmaids to check throughout the day and let you know if anything needs fixing or adjusting.

It's unlikely you'll need reminding, but remember to smile, relax and enjoy your big day! Feel confident and beautiful and make the most of this opportunity to look and feel your best, sharing your love for each other with all the people dearest to you. Make sure all of your family and friends are recorded, sharing in your special day and capturing all the joys and surprises it brings. It's a priceless treasure to have a video of your wedding day, being able to relive exchanging vows and stepping through the rituals together. It is money well spent to have a professional, successful final film, that you will enjoy throughout your years together. For most people, their wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event, so make the most of it and have a fabulous day.

Choose Your Wedding Day And Wedding Reception Photographer Carefully

By T. Z. Cole

Wedding photography has become much more creative over the last number of years. It used to be that you could identify the wedding photographer by the poses of the couples in the wedding day photographs. All that was changed it seemed was the couple- everything else was basically the same - the setting, pose, backgrounds etc etc.

In the new millennium things have certainly changed. Now, in addition to the ever traditional photographs many couples opt for a "journalistic" approach that capture the day's unexpected special moments - such as when the best man's toast brings tears to the bride's father's eyes or other spontaneous moments that will always be fondly remembered.

Although the trend in earlier times was almost exclusively toward color photos (black and white photographs seeming "old fashioned"), it now seems that a mixed approach is apparent, with black and white making a definite artistic comeback. Many couples now choose a combination of color and black and white photographs for their wedding day album. Black and white photos can even be hand tinted as a special touch and extra special emphasis.

It is important that when selecting a photographer, and whittling down your choices, that you look through as many samples of the photographers work as you possibly can. Bear in mind that any portfolio that is submitted for your review and consideration is a selling collection of the very best of that persons stock and trade -
in this case their ability to shoot outstanding photographic pictures. The collection that you are basing your valued choice on may consist of only 50 photographs out of a total of 10,000 that the artist may have shot over his career. That would count as only ½ of 1 %. How then can you assess and judge the photographer's skill expertise, and consistency?

First of all when examining the collection - judge not only the photographs and images, but also the quality. Are the colors rich and vibrant? Are the images in focus and well framed? Are the subjects placed in a balanced manner and in symmetry? Are the colors rich and vibrant? If you are planning an outdoor wedding. Then does the artist's work look clear, neat and clean? Is natural light used to its best advantage? If on the other hand if you are planning a wedding or reception inside - a restaurant for the reception , or a large older church for the wedding ceremony , both of which may have low ambient lighting levels - then how are the photos in a similar setting. Does the photographer seem to have the organization to plan for and utilize artificial lighting setups? Lastly you should take care to evaluate whether the photographer knows well how to organize and frame the elements in a shot to take best advantage of all the variables in your settings and photographs for best results.

Remember that your wedding day is "Your day in the Sun". What you will be left with to reminisce your special memories will be what is contained in your wedding photo album. Take extra care to choose your wedding day photographer carefully.

Internet Trends for the New Year: Stock Wedding Photos Online

Every year, about 2.4 million couples get married in the U.S. and the average wedding costs $20,000. Weddings are a $70 billion a year business, according to an online wedding resource company called The Knot.

New developments in technology over the last decade have enabled processes that now produce fast and inexpensive on-demand production and distribution for a variety of products and services. It was during the Digital Revolution in the 1990s when there was a rapid drop in costs and expanded power of digital devices such as digital cameras, computers and mobile telephones.

Today, photographers have mastered the art form of digital photography, which allows clients much greater flexibility and artistic style for their cherished images which can be placed in digital photo frames, on websites and shared via iPods, handhelds, and on the Internet.

Media outlets have also had to change the way they do business in view of the Internet and online publishing, including the use of stock images as opposed to high-budget editorial productions. With the evolution of computers, chips and networks, futurists predict that four billion people will be doing Internet commerce by 2025.(Source: The Extreme Future, by James Canton.)

More and more photographers are adding stock photo websites and the latest trends includes cutting edge wedding images with wedding reception photos, beach wedding photos, celebrity stock photos, the green wedding, photos of wedding reception decorations, wedding fashions, scenes of brides, getting ready, bridesmaids, grooms, groomsmen, the bridal party, flowers, receptions, ceremonies, the toast, cake cutting, dancing and departures.

The Internet has created conditions where photographers can share a voice through images that provide a unique take on cultural trends and how they will shape weddings in the future. Many have launched wedding stock photos websites because of the tremendous growth in online advertising that is communicating, connecting and influencing contemporary and captive audiences online. Stock photography saves money on skyrocketing and extravagant production costs.

"Wedding images is a marketplace in itself, and it's important to offer those seeking wedding stock images a wide variety. Today's wedding ceremonies are often in unusual venues such as museums, gardens, spas, even zoos. And today's green weddings provide images of environmentally friendly flowers, beach wedding photos, table dйcor and hybrid cars and limos," said award-winning photo journalist, John Unrue.

Wedding images include fabulous food photos, jewelry, fashions, flowers, gifts churches, hotels, and even travel and destination, which can all be used on other websites and in magazines for hundreds of other products and services. There are also countless opportunities to shoot close-up images of family, friends and loved ones sharing moments that reflect timeless expressions that can be adapted to satisfy many other categories for websites or editorial image requirements.

The Photographer At The Wedding Was Fantastic!

by

The photographer wedding professional makes a wedding come alive after the day is all over. All brides want each element of their wedding to come together without a hitch to create the moment of a lifetime. Out of all the professionals used to make a wedding possible, photographer wedding professionals are the ones whose work will last the longest. The photographer is the one who makes everyone look good, from the bride and the groom right down to the last flower on the wedding cake. When it comes to choosing artistic wedding photography, it is important to choose a professional who has the skill and experience to make your wedding album the best it can be.

A good photographer wedding professional will strive to be unobtrusive. We have all been to weddings at which the photographer usurped the wedding coordinator, bending the entire proceedings to his or her will with more focus on the shot list than the natural flow of the wedding. This experience is one of the chief reasons that many couples are turning to photojournalistic wedding photography, which allows the proceedings to unfold naturally with no interference.

However, the true photographer wedding professional will be reasonably unobtrusive no matter what style of photography you choose. It is true that if you want posed photographs, time will need to be dedicated to taking those photos. This is true even if the bulk of your shots consist of photojournalistic or artistic wedding photography. During the ceremony and reception, though, even the traditional photographer should be careful to minimize his or her intrusion.

The wedding photographer should work in tandem with the videographer if one is present. There is no place for egos or lack of professionalism at your wedding, so be certain that your photographer is aware in advance that you have hired a videographer and that he or she is ready to work as a team.

Your photographer wedding professional should arrive on time and dressed appropriately to the ceremony. This is a very important topic that many engaged couples fail to consider. What style will your ceremony be? Do you have a theme? Is it a period wedding? How formal are the proceedings? Your professional wedding photographer should be willing to dress to blend in with your choices.

The wedding photographer can truly make or break your day through his or her professionalism or lack thereof. He or she should be courteous and respectful of the other professionals who are also working to make your day special. Your wedding professionals are a team and no one part of the team is more important than another. When interviewing professional wedding photographers, be sure to look for a true team spirit rather than someone who looks down his or her nose at everyone else.

Your wedding day is truly one of the most important days of your life, and your photographer will create your lasting memories. Choose a photographer wedding professional who is committed to working as part of the team and going the extra mile to make you happy. The rewards will be great. The options are many and the bottom line is that the day and events photographed are entirely up to you and your personal style.

Digital Wedding Photography - The Pros & Cons!

 by

Choosing a wedding photographer is difficult under normal circumstances, but when you throw digital wedding photography into the mix, the choice of which type of photography is best can become even harder. There is a division among professional wedding photographers. Some think that traditional film photography has more warmth, while those that use digital photography feel it is as versatile as film. With the popularity of digital cameras, it's only natural that a couple would think that the most recent technology would make for the best pictures. This might not always be the case. So, how do you choose?

Only recently has digital photography begun to gain some recognition. Early digital cameras had many limitations that left the photos looking mechanical and cold. Today's cameras have come a long way to correct these flaws and offer professional wedding photographers yet another tool to work with. Digital wedding photography is well on its way to coming into its own.

For many situations, digital cameras offer a number of significant advantages. A digital camera provides immediate feedback to the photographer. This enables him or her to risk tricky or difficult shots, knowing that if anything needs to be corrected it can be. This is especially important for photojournalistic wedding photography, in which many of the shots will be taken in ambient light conditions. A related benefit is the ability to take a greater number of shots. The photographer can shoot as many pictures as time and memory card will allow, without worrying about the cost of film.

Another major advantage of digital wedding photography is that all of the settings are internal. Rather than having to interrupt the proceedings to change film speeds or simply change out a film roll, the photographer can make changes quickly and easily.

Most couples today want their photos in a digital format as well as an album. While film photos can be scanned, moving digital photos around electronically is less labor intensive and therefore less expensive. In addition, digital photos can be easily manipulated if the couple wants copies of certain photos in black and white or sepia tones, for example.

The major drawback to digital wedding photography at this time is that many wedding photographers are not yet completely familiar with the new style. Digital photography is in many ways a completely different animal than film photography, and some very talented professional wedding photographers are simply not at their best with digital photography. When interviewing possible digital wedding photographers, be sure that you ask how long the photographer has been using this style. Also ask to see copies of both his film work and his digital work for comparison purposes.

Digital wedding photography is here to stay. As time goes on, advances made with the technology will only serve to improve the quality of the photos. Already, many digital cameras have the ability to use different types of lenses and other accessories that previously were only available for traditional 35mm cameras. The choice you make will largely depend on your personal style and the look you are trying to create for your wedding album. Shop around, and compare photo albums from as many different photographers as you can find. Professional wedding photographers can have the best equipment in the world, but that still will not make up for a lack of knowledge. Whether it's digital or film, the photographer has to have the experience and skill to make your pictures shine. If you like a specific photographer's work, that photographer is the one for you.

Wedding Photography Tips From A Nantucket Photographer

By Mark Pommett

As someone who grew up as a Nantucket photographer, I've been asked numerous times for wedding photography tips, here are a few suggestions.

Create A List Of Shots.

Request or suggest to the couple to provide you with a list of shots they would like for their wedding. This makes things easy to remember and you can check them off as you click away. very helpful for family and group shots. It would be a real bummer to find out when you get the photos back that you missed Uncle Joe.

Use An Assistant.

Shooting the family portraits can be frustrating when you have people missing and they are not organized. People are just having too much fun and are wondering about - not really thinking about photography. I recommend to bring an assistant (preferably female) to nominate a family member to gather everyone for the portraits. They can round everyone up and make the shoot go so much faster so everyone can go back to celebrating.

Stay Prepared.

So much can go wrong on the day - so you need to be well prepared. Have a backup plan (in case of bad weather), have batteries charged, memory cards blank, think about routes and time to get to places and get an itinerary of the full day so you know what's happening next. If you can, attend the rehearsal of the ceremony where you'll gather a lot of great information about possible positions to shoot from, the lighting, the order of the ceremony etc.

Discuss Expectations.

With Your Bride. Show them your albums and samples of your work. Find out the style they want to achieve, how many pictures, key moments they want photographed, format of the shots ( digital, film), and more. Make sure to go over the price so they know exactly what they are paying for.

Minimize Your Camera Noise.

Camera clicks and beeps during the vows and toasts can be distracting. Switch off sound before hand and keep it off.

Shoot With Two Cameras.

It's too easy for one camera to go down during a shoot leaving stranded with out anyways to finish your work and destroying your reputation. Buy, borrow, or rent an extra camera for the day and set it up with a different lens. I try to shoot with one wide angle lens for candid shots and tight spaces and one longer lens (it can be handy to have something as large as 200mm if you can get your hands on one - I use a 70-200mm).

Capture The Details.

Take pictures of the rings, details in the dress, eyes, lips, table settings, interior etc - these help give the end album an extra dimension. Pick up a wedding magazine at your local news stand for a little inspiration.

Bring A Second Shooter.

Having a second backup photographer can greatly facilitate the day and improve your coverage. It means less running around during ceremony and speeches, and allows for your or your second to capture the formal shots while the other covers something else. Most importantly, it takes a little pressure off you being 'the one' to have to get every shot!

Don't Be Shy.

Being shy won't get you 'the shot'. Sometimes you need to step to the front of the line to capture a moment. However, timing is everything and planning ahead to get in the right spot for key moments are important so you don't disrupt the event. During the ceremony I try to move around at least 4-5 times but try to time this to coincide with songs, prayers or longer readings. During the portrait session take charge, know what you want, and ask for it from the couple.

Your Wedding Is Like Your Very Own Photo Shoot

By Mark Pommett

You’re the star of your wedding day, and with that comes an entourage of photographers and videographers bending backwards to get that killer shot. Now that you’ve hired them, your wedding day photo sessions should make you feel like you’ve just walked the red carpet. Here’s how to get ready for your close-up, and look glamorous on film and video.

Finding The Right Shooter …

Many couples consider their photographer and videographer among the most important vendors – it’s no surprise the wedding details are preserved in your leather bound photo album and wedding DVD. That’s not to say your wedding is forgettable, but for most brides it passes in a blur – it’s the job of your videographer and photographer to capture the most important events.

You should pick a pro whose style best reflects the look your going for. If you see a lot of photos in the sample albums with shadows under the nose or eyes, run for the hills – the expectation will be less than professional. If you love the way a photographer uses soft light to create a romantic look, you can expect the same sort of quality in your own shots.

The best time to begin looking for your photographer and videographer is as soon as you’ve picked your wedding date and location. Like most other vendors, the best are often booked months in advance. Here are a few tips to find your perfect pro:

• Take a peek at the photographer and videographer’s website for samples and galleries of their work.

• One you’ve chosen a photographer, ask if he/she can recommend a video professional they’ve worked with.

• Alternatively, you can work with a studio that offers both photography and video. The benefit - you’re guaranteed your photo and video team will be familiar with each other’s styles, and will work together to give you the best coverage.

• Agencies representing photographers will match you with a professional suited to the style you want for your wedding. This makes finding your photographer easy. The only downside is you may be left with less one-on-one time beforehand with the person who’s actually shooting your wedding.

Important Questions …

Once you’ve filtered down your list to a few potential photographers and videographers ask them some essential questions to more about their approach.

• What is the cost of services and what is included in the package?
• What type of equipment do you use?
• If your shooting film, can I purchase the negatives?
• Do you offer raw video footage?
• What types of guarantees and protection do you offer in the event you become sick?
• What are your techniques to get the most out of the subject?

It is also advisable to ask a few more open-ended questions. You’ll get a glimpse into his work philosophy for each wedding, and you’ll be able to gauge how passionate he is about his craft. Several great questions include:

• What inspired you to get into a career of photography/videography?
• What do you like most about your job?
• Is there a particular shot you love to take at every wedding?
• Has your style changed since you began in the wedding photo/video industry?

Timeline Of A Wedding …

Another important wedding detail you don’t want to miss is how many hours your photo and video team will spend shooting. Plan ahead and make sure they know your schedule before the wedding. Getting-ready shots are often the most intimate and revealing and proper planning will prevent a headache.

Consider capturing some of those movements you normally don’t witness on the wedding day. If you plan on having two cameramen (highly recommended better coverage), work with them to make a list of your most anticipated moments. For example, a montage of you and your bridesmaids getting prepared, then edited with shots of your groom and his guys before the ceremony is a true classic. You’ll get to see how well (or not so well) he handled his nerves. Other important and touching moments you might potentially miss (unless they’re captured on film) are your parent’s reactions during your vows, the smiles and laughter during your toast, and your own expressions as you make your grand entrance.

Here are five more glamorous shots worth adding to your album:

• Touching up your lipstick in a mirror before the ceremony.
• Making your grand exit from the ceremony to a cheering crowd of guests.
• Taking a smiling peek back to the camera as you walk away holding hands with your husband.
• Kissing under a golden sunset.
• Kissing in the backseat of your limousine as you depart the reception.

Striking A Pose …

If your concerned that you sometimes do no good to the camera, don’t stress – after having your hair and makeup done, you’ll look and feel great. Stay tuned for part 2 as we talk about:

• Getting a perfect album. Tips for a well-balanced photo book.
• Studying your favorite photos.
• Ignoring the camera and getting comfortable with your shooter.
• Film or digital photography.
• Ready for HD Video.

But there's no reason to panic. We've got a complete checklist so you can keep the smiles on everybody's faces. These handy tips will help you deliver a wonderful record of this special occasion that will make for easy photo sharing for years to come.

Tip #1: Bring along the right camera

Let's start right from the top. What kind of camera should you use? Fortunately, there is an easy answer. Ideally, you'd use an ultra wide with 100mm lens range. This will allow for just about any kind of photo opportunity that comes up. Also, don't forget the tripod for those beautiful, "moody" shots and a reflector for window shots - both are helpful when the bride and groom are looking for high quality pictures that will allow for photo printing.

Be creative! Create photo opportunities inside and outside the home. These "extra" touches will help the family with easy photo sharing over the years - and they'll appreciate your efforts at helping them stay connected.

Tip #3: Be "invisible" at the ceremony

During the ceremony, a photographer needs to be invisible. You need to blend in as much a possible. The attention and focus should always be the bride and groom.

Many photographers make a major mistake at weddings - they bring along a flash! Remember, you should rarely if ever use a flash because it's a major distraction. You may want to ask the happy couple before hand - and if they say okay, then use it, but use it sparingly.

So if you want pictures the happy couple to be proud of - if you want to take photos that are perfect for easy photo sharing and photo printing -- be assertive, but polite!

You'll need to take group shots of individual tables -- so move quickly and tell the guests exactly what you want them to do. If need be, ask a family member or an usher to help you create a special grouping or environment that will be especially memorable. You'll take photos that will give the event depth and meaning for everyone who attends, and they'll be such good photos people will go online looking for photo printing websites as soon as they get their pictures!

Tip #5: Keep posing to a minimum

Obviously, there are some occasions when posing is necessary -- especially those group shots of each table. But what will separate your photo album from all the rest is how many genuine moments you capture.

Be alert! You'll get the best photos by photographing a quick kiss, a longing look, a squeezed hand, and a loving embrace that are all spontaneous and spectacular! And if you keep vigilant and keep an eye out, you'll capture moments that will become treasured heirlooms for future generations to enjoy. Because of your attention to detail and sharp eye, the bride and groom will be able to share memories - created by you - for decades to come. If you keep posing to a minimum, you will providing great photos for easy photo sharing.

Wedding Photography & Wedding Photographers

By Paul Serellis

Wedding photographs should capture all the emotion, atmosphere and of course fun of the day. Images should be natural and relaxed, banish those 'stuffy posed' photos to the back of the drawer.

A wedding photographer's distinctive and renowned style of photography will enable the couple to relive the day fully for years to come. A wedding photographer should work with the couple and amongst their guests to capture many intimate moments and laughter throughout the entire wedding, quietly capturing real moments as they happen for the bride and groom.

A photographer should provide a superb collection of distinctive images, and work flexibly so the couple can select the photos to include in a package and perhaps arrange in a unique album to truly reflect the couple's special wedding day.

As a wedding is a one-time event, the wedding photographer must be alert and prepared for anything unexpected. Shooting a wedding is both exhausting and invigorating as the photographer is constantly looking for good light, great angles and opportunities for candid shots.

A well designed wedding album should be created with the couple’s expectations clearly in mind. Storybook wedding album pictures should have an excellent "flow" to show the wedding day unfolding.

Communication and planning time lines before the event will alleviate many of the stresses associated with photographing a wedding. An ability to tactfully take charge also helps - particularly when photographing large groups or families - a common expectation after the ceremony.

It is not unheard of for a photographer to work with an assistant who may carry their equipment, help round up guests and assist in the shooting through clothing adjustments or the holding up of reflectors. Assisting offers great experience for the "would be wedding photographer", and assistants should aim to work with as many photographers as possible.

Some individuals we live by the motto "How can I make a difference in the lives of others" so as a business a photographer should consider ways in which they can make a difference within the community and the wider world.

Having a run list with all of the expected shots is also a useful tool for the novice photographer.

Wedding photographers usually have an office or studio and some double as a Retail Photography Studio in many small towns and villages. In bigger cities you might find dedicated wedding studios that only shoot weddings and may have large studios equipped with make-up and hair and gowns ready for the bride to wear. Some studios also have arrangements with Bridal shops allowing the bride to try several gowns during her portrait session.

While the successful wedding photographer's responsibility is to the bride and groom, brides and their parents generally take greater interest in the results - don't they always??

The wedding photography profession is a rewarding and lucrative business to be in. If a photographer shows a caring and compassionate nature, he can become well known and make a good impression on customers.

Even though a photographer is behind the lens, the intimate moments they capture will be presented for generations to enjoy.
