Her collection is admired by a big British fan-base and stocked in the most exclusive bridal stores in London, Browns Bride and Caroline Castigliano. Aruna Seth says:

"We'd love to be picked to be Royal Wedding shoe designer, it would be a truly magical experience. Kate Middleton's bridal shoes should be simple, elegant with a hint of glamour to match her style; with a reasonable heel-height to be in proportion to Kate's petit frame. I'd recommend Kate choosing effortless, classic shoes that will stand the test of time. In a shoeaholic's world, choosing appropriate bridal shoes should be as important as the grandeur of the dress. Kate will have a four-minute walk up the carpeted aisle of the 900-year-old church of Westminster Abbey therefore comfort will be key. Spending a long-time on her feet, Kate's bridal shoes will need to be beautiful yet practical; Aruna Seth shoes all contain a special plush padding providing extra comfort for the Royal day. I feel the ‘Bryony' shoe pictured below to be the most ‘Kate Middleton' appropriate from my collection. We would of course design a bespoke one-off bridal shoe for Kate's special day if asked."

Prince William and Kate Middleton- The Royal Wedding

Author: Annie Smith

So the wait is over at last... we finally have another Royal Wedding on our hands! Following a lengthy 8 year courtship, Prince William and Kate Middleton are to wed in April this year. William proposed to his long term girlfriend with his Mother's (Lady Diana) diamond and sapphire engagement ring during a holiday in Kenya. The engagement had long been speculated about in the media, but on the 17th November 2010 Clarence House delighted millions by announcing the news.

After the announcement, the speculation then turned to where and when the wedding would take place; however this was short lived as William and Kate announced they are to get married at Westminster Abbey on the 29th April, following a very short engagement.

And the wedding frenzy seems to have swept not just this Country but the whole World, with hotels being inundated with bookings from visitors hoping to be part of the occasion. Furthermore, bookings are being extended beyond just the wedding day, with tourists hoping to explore London in additional days before and after the wedding. London is one of the most popular Cities, often being described as cool, classy and cosmopolitan; and so it is not a huge surprise that with these descriptions comes some hefty price tags. But fret not, as there is a simple way to help save you money while travelling around the sights and that is with the help of the taketwobook- a voucher book providing 50% off many attractions, museums, shows and eateries around the Capital.

The wedding is to take place in the Abbey which is located right in the heart of London, next to the Houses of Parliament and is a traditional place of coronation and burial of English Monarchs. The building itself has some stunning architecture, proving itself to be a favourite with photographer enthusiasts and a regular route for the Hairy Goat London Photography Mystery Tour. The ceremony itself will begin at 11am, with Miss Middleton travelling through the Mall, Horse Guard Parade, Whitehall and Parliament Square, arriving at Westminster Abbey by car. Using a car as the transportation method for the Bride is a break from tradition and showcases Kate's wish for a more low-key Royal Wedding. During the ceremony, The Archbishop of Canterbury will marry the couple and after the service William and Kate will travel back to Buckingham Palace. The couple is expected to make the traditional appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony before heading inside. Huge crowds of well-wishers are expected to be gathered outside, all hoping for a very public kiss; reminiscent of the scene between Prince Charles and Princess Diana when they married in 1981. There will then be a reception hosted by the Queen, for guests from the congregation and in the evening the Prince of Wales will host a private dinner.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's marriage is set to be the biggest Royal event since the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Consequently, the Government has designated it a bank holiday; and the timing of the wedding means there will be two 4 day public holidays in succession. The Prime Minister has encouraged this decision because he wants to mark the day as one of national celebration and the public holiday will ensure that most people have the chance to celebrate. And it's not just those who live in the City that are expected to partake in the celebration. London (and England for that matter) will be welcoming thousands of visitors from all over the world hoping to soak up some of the special celebratory atmosphere.

This Royal Wedding weekend provides a wonderful opportunity to really explore London, and visit all that is best about the City; however, this can be very costly. A great way to help save money while visiting London is to use the taketwobook London's 2 for 1 voucher and guidebook. The taketwobook is packed full to bursting with two for one vouchers and ideas for many of the cities famous and must-see museums, galleries and top attractions. The taketwo book also contains 2 for 1 london vouchers for tours around the Capital; and these tours come in many forms, from the conventional bus tour and cruise, photography tour, bicycle tours, jogging and walking tours. 2 for 1 vouchers for loads of restaurants and tearooms can also be found in the book, ensuring you can enjoy some great food or traditional afternoon tea, for half the price.

So with the big day looming closer, you should make sure you have made plans to visit the Capital, and if you haven't already- buy yourself a hat... who knows, you may just get an invite!

Wedding Planning

Congratulations on getting engaged! As you begin to plan your special day, you will have to make numerous decisions, many of them financial. To make those decisions easier for you during this exciting time, a budget is the best way to keep you stress-free. Here are a few things to consider as you plan your wedding.

Decide who will be paying for the wedding. Will you be going the traditional route of the parents or father of the bride contributing to the event? If so, the father of the bride pays for everything involving the wedding except the tuxedos, groomsmen gifts, rehearsal dinner and honeymoon. Are you more of a modern bride and want to pay for the big day yourself? This can be a stressful situation on the bride and the cost should be shared by the groom or other family to lighten the burden.

Pick a date and location. Flexibility is important to remember when selecting a date and location for your wedding. This should be done when you first begin to plan your wedding, because every decision surrounds the date and time. You won't be able to hire a photographer if you don't know the date and proximity of your wedding. Remember weddings aren't just reserved for Saturday nights anymore. It is more common in the last few years to hold a wedding on a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon. It may even be slightly cheaper in price if you chose another time other than a Saturday night.

Make a realistic list and budget. Organization is key to having a successful budget in place. Keep all of your paperwork and information in a binder or organizer to make it easy to find things related to the wedding. A good tip on budgeting is always setting the prices a little higher than what is expected, in case things are added on at the last minute.

Shop around. Price comparisons are crucial to getting the best deal for your wedding. Get multiple estimates from every vendor, including photography, flowers and reception halls. The lowest estimate may not always be the best vendor. If an estimate you receive is within your budget and you like them better than the lowest offer, select that one. You need to feel comfortable and happy with your selections, since they will be sharing in your special day with you. Experienced professionals that have been in the wedding industry for years will be able to meet your budget and satisfy your needs to make your wedding memorable and unique.

Work with a wedding planner. If your budget allows, hire a wedding planner to assist you. They will be able to help with all the details and alleviate a lot of stress and worry you otherwise may experience. Can't afford a wedding planner? A family member may be able to fill that role if they're reliable and organized and willing to take on the responsibility of helping you plan your day. They will also be a good sounding board for ideas you may have and it will be fun to have someone close to you share in the planning of your wedding. Utilize them to help with all the planning stages, or just one or two, whatever you need assistance with. They'll be happy to help and you'll be a little less stressed.

Have fun! Remember it is your wedding and you should enjoy the day. If something doesn't go exactly as planned, don't worry. It's your special day and it will be fabulous no matter what! Keep in mind these tips to ensure you have a smooth wedding planning process. Good luck!

Nostalgic Christmas Wedding Favors

Beverly Clark Eatable Favors Style 67YMO

By Joe Palladino

The best times to celebrate with family are on days that are really special to you and require a lot of planning and time to make them perfect. Your wedding is one of those days and if you combine it with the feeling of the holiday season then everyone will really understand the love that you feel.

You will be able to bring a kind of warmth to your reception that will make everyone feel really close together. The great thing is that there are a lot of different feelings all coming together in this celebration because you will be drawing from decorations that make everyone feel good and really feel like they are in the middle of the season right there with you. The snow of w inter can be a great thing to add in to your decorations especially since the wedding dress is white and glitter and the bride will look like a shining snowflake. Christmas time is the time for celebrating family and good fortune in light of the coming New Year and your wedding is the start of the rest of your life together with your new spouse.

This is a great link between the two celebrations and you can really play off of this with your decorations. Your guests will definitely remember the night and the memories they made there for the rest of their lives because you gave them a truly unique experience. Here are a couple examples of wedding favors that you can use to incorporate this classic theme into your reception.

Double Hearts Design Christmas Ornament:

This is great because it really gives that ultimate combination of love and holiday feeling for all of your guests. This will conjure images of decorating the Christmas tree, wrapping presents, and eating a warm meal with all of your relatives. It is strange how similar your wedding reception process will be -- you will have to plan everything, decorate the hall, find gifts for your guests, and you will share a fantastic meal with everyone with a celebratory air the whole time. So, inspire the feeling of the holidays with these stunning wedding favors.

24 Silver Bells Box:

These come right out of a fantastic Christmas song and all your guests will recognize their beauty as soon as they walk into the dining hall. The tradition of ringing the bells for a toast or a kiss between the bride and groom is basically packaged in a box for you with this wedding favor so that you can just set them out and have your guests enjoy them. The bells have a little message attached to them that gives your guests the instructions about how they should use the silver bells to call for a toast or a kiss. You can even try making a personal message for these and writing it on the back of the message that is already there so that they will be even more personal and meaningful for each and every single one of your valued guests.

There are so many different traditions that come along with planning your wedding that sometimes you need to make sure that they do not become overwhelming. You still need to make sure that there are overtones of your personality and the ways you view the wedding mixed in with all of the different traditions. The best way to do this is to make sure you plan all of your decorations and activities around what you want to go on and the mood you want to set. Choosing a theme and then expanding on it by choosing decorations, invitations, and foods that go along with it will really enhance your reception and all of your guests will be surprised by your ability to really be able to have a collected and put together wedding party. They will all remember you and your decorating prowess if you combine tradition with innovation and really come up with an inspiring theme and ways to enhance it that will impress all of your guests.

The tradition of giving a toast to the bride and groom is a really vital part of the celebration and you want to have this as an aspect of what you do because everyone will be expecting it. There are a lot of options that you have when it comes to picking out the different kinds of bells and ornaments you can have. You can even try writing messages for your guests and leaving them along with the bells for them. You can also choose some bells that already have messages attached. A really great idea is to get personalized wedding bells that are inscribed with your name and the date of your wedding so that all of your guests will have a sure way to remember your party and everything that went on there. This is a great way to make your wedding truly unique and memorable for everyone there. The wedding favors are also a fantastic way to bring together the whole theme of your wedding and to bring it all to life.

Rock N Roll Party Theme For Your Rockin' Wedding

Are you the type of person that loves rock 'n roll, and getting down and dirty? Is a fancy white wedding not for you? Why not take what you love and run with it! It's your wedding, do what you want. Shelly, 24, did just that.

Shelly is a rock and roll girl all the way. She hates dressing up, and hates the idea of wearing a fluffy white dress even more. Shelly is a girl with attitude, and she wanted to bring that to her wedding. Her soon to be husband, Greg, 25, was also a rocker and loved the idea of a rock 'n roll theme into their wedding. The first step, wedding invitations, and let me just say that their method was most original, guitar picks! Shelly and Greg decided 'what better way' than to personalize guitar picks with the guests name, and wedding details (shorthand of course) on the front.

What was their choice for the setup of their wedding? Well, Greg and Shelly decided they wanted to go as far outside of the norm as possible and actually rented out a bar where local bands performed. They knew this bar because they were frequent visitors too. Local bands continued to play straight through their wedding. The bar tables were used and stools at the bar itself were perfect for guests with the intention of some fun drinking (champagne was not an option for this couple).

As for wedding favors, Greg was a fan of poker, so packs of playing cards were perfect. Shelly stumbled across some candles in the shape of the suits of cards (heart, spade, club, and diamond) and used those as well. Shelly wanted to get a bit spunky with her choice of wedding favors, so she provided the guests with inflatable guitars, saxophones, and microphones. Not only could guests watch the bands perform, they could now pretend they were a part of the band.

Square plates in a black and white theme decorated the tables for when it was time to eat. A buffet dinner was perfect since elegant was not what our couple was going for - they definitely knew they wanted casual and fun. Guests helped themselves to an endless supply of burgers, chicken, fries, and more while continuing to rock out to the local bands performing. But the best was yet to come. The cake was the greatest idea for the whole wedding. A local baker designed a cake in the shape of a Les Paul guitar. It was almost too realistic to eat! But guests got to bite down into a piece of music, and enjoy the whole theme.

So, got an itch to scratch or a wedding coming up? Not only does this theme fit nicely for a wedding, but it could also be used for a unique Sweet Sixteen (minus the alcohol of course), or any celebration for that matter. If elegant and fancy is not for you, you could always just take advice from our couple, and "rock out!"

Before you give your wedding vow "to have and to hold, 'til death do us part", you'll have to decide if you are going to own or rent one of those lovely wedding dresses on the rack.

Heads or Tails

It's never too early to shop for your wedding gown, and shopping around is just making sure you've seen everything before deciding on one of the wedding dresses you've tried on. You can initially check out the bridal sites on the Internet and compare services, as well as prices.

It's also a fact that 10% of the wedding budget goes to the wedding dress, so it's a toss up between renting or owning your wedding gown. But at this point, decide if you're going to buy your wedding gown off the rack, rent it, or have one of those wedding dresses copied and modified for your custom-made bridal gown.

There are only two reasons for buying or renting a wedding gown - one is for sentimental reasons, and the other is for practical reasons. If you want to keep the wedding gown and pass it on to your daughter or daughter-in-law, buy your wedding gown, but if you think you can't be lugging a wedding gown around all those years, then rent the designer gown that looks good on you.

Tips in Renting Wedding Gowns

Bridal gowns are rented out for as high as $250 or as low as $150. Some rental shops will charge you a package deal that includes accessories. Visit the shops and personally try on the gowns for size and select the veil, tiara, shawl, and other items to go with it.

Depending on the time of year, you will have to rent the gown ahead of time - a year before the wedding if your wedding month falls on those peak seasons. June brides and prom nights can trigger a price increase in rentals.

Carefully check the wedding dresses for stains, dirt, and rips before signing a rental contract, and ask about the penalties for damaged gowns. Pick up the gown on the agreed date. Should there be any further alterations, these can be done immediately before the date of the wedding.

Tips in Buying Your Bridal Gown

Since most bridal shops won't allow you take pictures of the wedding dresses in their shops, you'll have to take along a friend who has a good fashion sense. Before you put on the dress, take a look at the rows of dresses that fall under your price range of $1000 or $500, whether you want a brand-new designer dress or a discounted gown.

Before stepping into a shop, make up your mind about the gown's length, sleeve style, neckline, and waistline. You can make the task easier by having a picture of your ideal wedding gown or something close to it so that the shop consultant can immediately find the gown that you want. Don't go for too much alterations or modifications as the dressmaker will charge more than you expected.

Whether you're buying or renting, don't let the salespersons intimidate you and hurry you to a sale. Remember it's your wedding and you want to look your best. Now, it's up to you if you're going to buy or rent one of those wedding dresses.

Weddings - Planning A Small, Outdoor Wedding

Perhaps you're the type of bride that doesn't want a large wedding. Perhaps you're the type of bride that only wants a handful of guests, and would rather keep the celebration to a minimum. Not every one wants the extreme attention that most weddings tend to bring. Maybe a small, low key wedding, in the backyard is what you'd like, with twenty to thirty guests, where everyone can just relax, have them self a beer, and take a break from life.

An idea to consider when planning a small wedding is to have it in a friend's backyard. Only twenty people will come which is all the bride really wanted to be there any way. Her best friends since elementary school, her close family members, and his choice of guests are all that they wanted to be there. Everyone is sitting comfortably in wicker chairs, there is no rush to her wedding, why should there be? Life is rushed enough as it is. She's wearing a simple spaghetti strap dress, in an emerald green, her hair is pulled back into a braid, and a flower crown is on her head. The bride is carrying sunflowers in her hand as her bouquet. In the back of the yard sits 5 tables, each table topped with a light green table cloth, and a set of sunflowers. The chair that each guest sits in during the wedding can be moved to the tables later for the celebration, no need in spending extra money when an item can be used for two purposes.

On each of these tables, beside the sunflower, is a small collection of wedding favors that each guest can take home. A simple picture frame displaying the couple, and a disposable camera for the guests to become a photographer for a day. Our bride wants her wedding as low key as possible, so why bring in a photographer, one of the guests are bound to get an amazing shot somewhere! Little pails with calla lily on the side sit in the center of the table as well, a cute little gift for each of her guests. Glass grapes are used as a place card holder which displays each of the guests' names, if she decides to do assigned seating. But since the wedding is of a relaxed nature, assigned seating is not a necessary thing. Most of her guests are either family, or so close they might as well be, so fancy eating is also not an item she chose to do. Instead a small barbeque was set up, and the guests help themselves to whatever they want.

With a little bit of relaxing music, and a small group of those close to her heart, our bride set up her ideal wedding, a small, relaxed wedding. Inexpensive, but what her heart desired most, she had the time of her life, and didn't need the attention that a large wedding brings. Remember, a wedding is a time for you, not for anyone else. Do what you and your fiancé feels is right, and if this small wedding sounds right to you, then don't hesitate to do it!

Have Fun Decorating The "Just Married" Car

By Kathleen Terrana

Traditionally, the groomsmen have fun decorating the getaway car during the reception as a final surprise to the bride and groom. In the past, soap or shaving cream was used to write "Just Married" and the back window. Old shoes were tied to the back bumper because leather was thought to ward off evil spirits, and would keep the young couple safe. Sometimes tin cans were also tied to the back of the car, to make noise and call attention to the happy newlyweds.

Now, more couples are renting limousines and are aware that shaving cream might damage the paint and rental companies discourage tying anything to the car. There are many other alternatives now available that won't harm the car in any way. Many online companies offer creatively printed banners such as "Together Forever", "Just Married", and "We've Tied the Knot" printed in white on clear static vinyl. Just peel and cling to the windows or auto body.

Flowers, both fresh and silk, are perhaps the most popular decorations. Silk flowers will endure the elements better as well as heat from the car. Flower garlands that are purchased from the craft store, are easily attached by tucking the ends under the car's trunk lid.

Giant crepe paper streamer rolls (500 feet), may be purchased to decorate the chapel, reception hall and even the getaway car. Tie some streamers to the antenna, the side-view mirrors, the door handles, and make a big bow for the hood. Use the colors of the wedding and vary the lengths of the streamers. Matching balloons can be tied to the outside of the car or used to fill in the inside. The bride and groom will want to take lots of pictures of the "Just Married" car, as well as those who lovingly decorated it.

Bridesmaid Speech

By Spencer Ray

The wedding day is a hectic day filed with activities of all sorts. The days leading up to the wedding are also quite busy and as a bridesmaid you have several things on your plate. In all this rush and excitement, if you are asked to prepare for a speech, it might be asking a lot. But there is no real cause for anxiety because a bridesmaid speech need not have elaborate preparation like a best man's speech or the maid of honor's speech. It can be short and simple and no one will complain. You must just ensure that you put across your thoughts in a clear manner. However, if you really want to be different, you can spice up your speech by including a few good quotations on marriage. Here are two of my favorites.

You can give an imaginary context for them if you want. For example, you can say that in an earlier wedding, you overheard the bride say - 'I love being married. It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life'. Or you can give some words of wisdom to the bride with - 'An ideal wife is one who remains faithful to you but tries to be just as charming as if she weren't'. Delivered with the right timing and the right gestures, these quotes can make a big difference between an ordinary speech and an excellent one.

Whatever quotes you may include in your bridesmaid speech, you must not forget the fundamentals. Extend your thanks to all the people who have helped you to complete your tasks. Tell how excited you were to know about your friend's wedding and apologize for any inconvenience to the guests that may have happened due to shortfalls in your arrangements. If you want to make any quick announcements about logistics, you might want to add those in but go ahead only if they are really urgent.

Why Choose An Original Wedding Car?

Author: Thomas Pretty

After joyously celebrating the news that my brother was finally marrying his girlfriend the fundamentals of organising a wedding came apparent. My brother would be getting married in Sidcup, so almost immediately I started to look at wedding cars in the local area. Over a pint however in a local Sidcup pub, my brother and I started to think of original choices for wedding cars that could be a great idea for his special day. Our findings were somewhat diverse.

Naturally there is a number of wedding car companies in Sidcup that have a wide variety of classic cars on offer. Rolls Royce car, Bentleys and Jaguars are usually the first choice for many couples. Ultimately they make an elegant solution to your wedding day travel needs. Their large size is also ideal, allowing you to travel in comfort ad style. This past wisdom is changing however; a large number of couples are now finding wedding cars that have their own unique appeal and charm.

If you are not overly bothered by looking at large cars there are smaller vehicles that have a certain distinct flavour about them. Some may want to consider using a Morris Minor or the Volkswagen Beetle. While they may be a great deal smaller than the regular choice of wedding cars, there are a number of companies in Sidcup that supply them. The Beetle is naturally a popular car due to its lovable styling and the bold character; the relationship to 'Herbie' is also a powerful lure. The Morris is the quintessential English car and even comes in a soft top model for those marrying on a sunny day.

Some however will definitely want to hire larger wedding cars; thankfully Sidcup has a number of companies that supply American classics for happy couples. This way it is possible to make an original choice without having to compromise on size. A classic in this genre is the pink Cadillac, although pink may not be to everyone's taste. Thankfully they come in more than one colour.

Military vehicles have seemingly become popular and while you may not be able to find one in Sidcup, if you go a little further a field it is possible to find some unique wedding cars, although cars may not be the way to describe them. One of the military options is the Hummer all terrain vehicle, these even come in stretch models if you do not want to compromise on luxury. For those who want to take the military theme of their wedding to the extreme it is now possible to hire a tank for your special day; this can hardly be described as romantic but each to their own.

One car that has a gargantuan global fan base is the Volkswagen campervan. Understandably those who have a penchant for this type of vehicle may want to choose one for heir wedding day; it could even be possible to head straight on your honeymoon with this type of vehicle.

Although you may not find this type of company in Sidcup, there are a few businesses sprouting up that supply cars from movies and television for wedding days. These are more likely to appeal to the groom but should be a consideration nonetheless. With choices such as the renowned black Trans Am from Knightrider or the Delorean from Back to the Future, if you are looking for a theme to your wedding, these choices could be the ideal solution.

While these choices may be original and unique, as I discussed them with my brother it became apparent that while he may be swayed by the Delorean or a Hummer, his fiance will certainly not be as easily convinced. After all, unless he could convince her of the value of a unique wedding car it is more likely that he would follow the traditional course. But my advice to anyone who is planning a wedding is to at least look into these original choices; they may make your wedding day that bit more special.

Tips on Choosing a Wedding Car

Author: Shaun Parker

Wedding cars from the 1930s to the 1960s are the most sought after and also fairly rare in good condition. But because of their age and the distance they have to travel, they need an enormous amount of maintenance. The specialist repairers are hard to find and any parts need to be made. Years ago weddings were a local affair, but now with more choice of venues on offer, people will travel several miles to find the destination of their dreams. If people want to hire a wedding car, due to distance and the increase in traffic, the wear and tear on the old cars in considerable.

Gone are the days when you were told of a local man who had an old car, usually black or a dark colour, which he would use as a wedding car. You can now book wedding cars on the internet and when searching you will find hundreds to choose from, in all shapes, sizes and colours. But it makes sense to book your wedding cars with a company that has several vehicles in case of an emergency and has been in the wedding car business for many years. A well established company will have the knowledge to advise you of the choices of wedding cars that would suit your needs.

Vintage and Classic Cars

There are two main groups of wedding cars; vintage and classic. The best of the vintage era is of course the Rolls Royce and if you require a car that encapsulates the best of British, then surely this will be your choice. Many of these cars have running boards and wide opening doors for easy entry. But if you like streamlined looking cars them maybe your choice should be from the classic era. Many of these cars have swan neck wings and look sporty. But beware, because of these undoubtedly good looks they have less room inside.

A wedding car of either era will help to make you feel a million dollars and by picking the right company will take a lot of the stress away from you, so pick wisely. A long established company as a wedding car specialist means many years of experience in weddings and wedding car hire services. A company with many vehicles means alternative arrangements can be made in case of an emergency. Reputable companies can also offer you extra services such as chauffeurs in smart uniform, horse drawn carriages and also added luxuries such as a bottle of champagne for your journey.

You can add a shade of elegance whether you prefer to have a traditional, vintage, or luxury model for your car. So what is the hottest for wedding cars this 2009?

The Mercedes S Class is a spacious car which is packed with elegance and style. Perceived to be one of the most popular wedding cars in the list, this vehicle offers comfort and as greatly favoured instead of the usual Rolls Royce or a Bentley. This will surely match up the elegance of the bride’s gown. The Silver Limousine is another ideal choice for bigger wedding events. It has six doors and can hold up to around seven adults. Simple yet elegant, it stays on the top list of elegant wedding cars. If you are in search for comfort and luxury combined, there is the Silver Bentley Arnage. The horse and carriage can also serve as a wedding transportation and bring in an air of romance to the event. So when you hire a wedding car service, make sure that you sign a contract with them. It should include dates, the chosen model of cars, and the price and guarantee just in case emergency cases arise. This is an important reminded that should not be missed.

Choosing The Right Wedding Car

Author: Silver Cloud

The right wedding cars can add a touch of magic and class to your special day, infact one of the most special days of your life. The journey to your wedding ceremony is the most significant ride you will ever make.

The wedding car is more than just a means of transporting you to and from the ceremony – after all it will be the last place you gather your thoughts as an excited and beautiful bride to be and the first intimate space you will share as newlyweds.

Selecting a wedding car should be a fun but serious exercise. Visit each prospective car supplier or chauffeur and ask for a test ride. You wouldn’t get married in a dress you’ve never tried on and the same should go for your wedding car!

Check the interior. Is it spacious, will it accommodate the bridal gown (especially important if the dress has an elegant but delicate train), is there plenty of room to egress gracefully? Wear the same size heels as your wedding shoes and practice getting in and out of the car. You want to be poised and elegant on the day, especially as cameras will be documenting your every move! The last few minutes before the ceremony can be a little tense so ensure that the wedding car is comfortable and a relaxing space.

Reliability is obviously essential. When you visit your chauffeur or wedding car specialist pay attention to their premises not just the car. A company or chauffeur that looks after their premises will also look after their car! You don’t want to risk a breakdown on the day do you?

Finally you will want to decide what style and age of car will best compliment your dress and the wedding ceremony itself. You can get a very modern model, something as sleek an elegant as a traditional Rolls Royce or you can opt for a vintage car. It all depends on the theme of your wedding, and of course, your budget. Most wedding car suppliers have several models so don’t restrict you choice.

Traditionally most wedding cars are white but don’t let that dictate your final choice. An elegant cream may best compliment your dress, silver wedding cars are timeless and classical. Lastly, ensure that your chauffeur dresses both himself and the car in a style that compliments the theme of your day! As with every other aspect of planning a wedding, it’s the details that frequently add that final sparkle to your wedding day.

Your First Wedding Dance

Author: Robin Buckley

The wedding day is rich with tradition and new trends as well. With all of he rituals, perhaps the sweetest is the first dance. It can however be a point of stress if the couple has not prepared for it. Couple dancing is a skill that takes a little bit of practice. When the bride and groom take the spotlight, it is much easier to have confidence and grace if they have had a bit of practice. So, how should you prepare? What are your options and where do you start? Here are some tips that will help you make this moment a great memory.

The first step is of course to choose the song. But you will also want to consider what type of dance would best fit you as a couple. Slow and romantic, a classic waltz, perhaps a jazzy foxtrot, or the energy of swing, tango or salsa. What ever your choice keep in mind that some dances styles are easier to learn than others, so plan accordingly.

Classic songs like "Our love is Here to Stay", "Just the Way You Look Tonight", "At Last" are songs that most wedding bands should be able to play. If your song is more obscure, you could play the recording for the first dance. However if your band is going to play your music, you should make sure the band leader knows in advance what tempo you have been practicing to and for how long you want the song to play. If you have been practicing to a certain recording, be sure that you make a copy for the bandleader so that they understand the arrangement and feel of the music you are expecting. The same song can have several styles so it is important to communicate so there are no surprises on your wedding day.

You should not feel that some sort of performance will be expected of you, remember that it is your day and your first dance should reflect the two of you. However if dancing together is something that you have always wanted to do, there is no better opportunity than your first dance at your wedding to make a statement. Your first dance will be a memory that you will share forever.

So if dance lessons are in your future, you should have no problem finding a dance teacher who has experience with wedding couples. Most dance studios offer private and group lessons. Of course private lessons will cost more, but with private lessons you can concentrate only on what you want to learn and go at what ever pace suits you as a couple best. You can expect to pay anywhere from $25. to $80. a lesson.

There are many types of partner dancing, so it is a good idea to discuss this with your dance instructor before you begin. Once you have located the the dance instructor that you are comfortable with, you will want to bring a recording of your song. If you have not chosen one yet, your instructor will most likely have some good suggestions.

For some it can be uncomfortable going to a dance studio to learn your wedding dance. Or you may have schedules that conflict. In that case we suggest instructional videotapes. There are several products out their that cater specifically to the bride and groom. Some feel too much pressure working with an instructor, or are too shy learning with a group. The videos are a great way to bring the lesson into the privacy of your own home, learning at your own pace. No matter how you decide to proceed, remember to be supportive of each others difficulties. Your efforts will be rewarded.

Often times the wedding couple will go into the first dance just after being announced into the room. Traditionally the father/daughter dance will follow the bride and groom's first dance. After that, the groom will dance with his mother. Both sets of parents and the bride and groom can then take the dance floor together. The groom may ask the mother of the bride to dance while the bride dances with her new father-in-law. Finally the entire wedding party, and then the guests may join in. As the bride and groom, you will ultimately decide before the wedding day how you would like the dancing lineup to be, and it will be important to communicate with everyone how you want the dancing to flow. Just make sure you have a good selection of songs to complete the formal dancing.

Your first dance will be one of your most beautiful memories from your wedding day. By taking the time to prepare for it you will be able to relax and have fun with it. Try not to think of it as a performance but rather a very special moment in time that will only happen once, as there is only one first dance.

Organic Wedding Elements

By Guy Antonelli

These days, it seems like everyone is looking for ways to make their weddings more eco-friendly. From organic to fair trade to environmentally low-impact materials, there are lots of ways that a couple can have a greener wedding. Read on for some tips on how to incorporate more organic details into your own celebration.

Like all things, a greener wedding should start at the beginning. There are finally some stylish and environmentally responsible options for wedding invitations. Look for stationery created from recycled paper (don't worry, it does not look recycled) or organic cotton. Rather than toxic inks, choose safer soy-based inks to print all of your information. This will get your wedding off to a good start!

If you have been looking into ways to use organic items in your wedding, you have probably already given some thought to the menu. The first step is to choose a caterer who specializes in sourcing organic and locally grown produce, poultry, and so on. Did you know that you can also find organic wine and even organic spirits, like vodka? They are the perfect accompaniment to an organic dinner.

Also think about fair-trade delicacies, like chocolate and after-dinner coffee. (Fair-trade products ensure that the farmers are receiving a livable wage for their labor.) You can serve up a cup of organic fair-trade coffee with local organic cream for a post-meal beverage that will be as eco-friendly as it is delicious. For your guests who prefer to sip a cup of tea, offer certified organic fair-trade herbal teas.

The bride will surely want to find ways to make her wedding ensemble more green, as well. There are now bridal gown designers who create dresses from hemp, organic cotton, or fair-trade silk. If none of these gowns appeal to you, consider having your mother's wedding gown re-cut to wear for your special day. When you can't go organic, reusing is a good alternative. Handmade wedding jewelry is the perfect complement to an earth-friendly wedding gown. Look for wedding jewelry that has been handmade with "cleaner" precious materials, such as Swarovski crystals in lieu of diamonds.

Your wedding décor can also go organic. You will find many beautiful choices for organic flowers. To reduce your carbon footprint even further, buy locally produced blooms whenever possible. Not only will the flowers have traveled fewer miles, you will be helping a local farmer, as well. Naturally with your organic flowers, you will want to use soy candles with non-toxic wicks, rather than regular petroleum-based candles. You can create a reception that is romantic and environmentally friendly at the same time.

Finish off your wedding with organic favors for your guests. Anything edible is an excellent choice for favors, so think about things such as organic chocolate or organic cookies in boxes or bags made from recycled materials. You can also choose favors like packets of organic seeds or a lovely room spray created from organic lavender. There are as many fantastic possibilities for organic favors as there are types of brides and grooms. Once you set your mind to it, you will find that it is actually quite easy to plan a wedding using as many organic and earth-friendly details as possible.
